@ princesirohi: Before the RE website was revised, I remember that it mentioned Classic 500's top speed as 130kph. As a 500, I believe it should do 100 comfortably for pretty long durations. But I am not sure, I haven't ridden the new ones enough to be sure of that. Now the website doesn't mention the top speed of any bullet any more.
@R-series: Yes, the cafe racer is indeed lovely. Should sound equally lovely as well
Notice that it seems to have the same new oval shaped swingarm that has been introduced on the Thunderbird 500. I believe this should improve the overall handling prowess of the motorcycle. Would love RE to put this on CL 500 as well, because I love Classic's look than any other RE.

You have a way of explaining things properlyOriginally posted by payeng View PostCool Saipranav,
Actually the Thunderbird is neither a true blue "feet forward + kicked out front forks + low seat height" Classic cruiser.. nor a honest street bike.
The Thunderbird does try to "mimic" a cruiser in some way but it does not do it whole heartedly. The Thunderbird might be a comfortable long distance tourer, but the Thunderbird certainly is a bit confused..
If I am not wrong "backsplash" probably had similar opinions.

@priceirohi
I have read a few dozens of reviews of CL500 and everyone says that the bike can maintain 90+ for many hours but the vibrations make it unbearable after 100kmph.
RE officially says that the topspeed is 130kmph.
BTW, you can go to RE web-site and book a test-ride for one complete day, it will clear all your doubts.Apache 180

so you are saying, it does not inspire confidence after 105 kmph, so can we do 90-100 kmph comfortably on it for hours? how comfortable it is to ride for long durations? can i do 160 kms daily on it comfortably i.e. 80 kms one way to office daily?
what about braking? suppose we are doing 80-90kmph and suddenly we have to brake i.e. panic braking situations, how does it behave?
Since you are planning to buy the thunderbird500 100km/hr would be quite easy to do. The bike is quiet comfortable the bike can be ridden for hours. As i said before 160km is a piece of cake even for TBTS 350.
The breaking is a bit on the poorer side , but since the thunderbird 500 gets a rear disk i think it should hav improved . Since the bike weighs(Thunderbird 500) 195kg you cannot expect the bike's break to match other bikes( Pulsar) breaks.There ain't no devil, ther'e just God when he's drunk.

@saipranav
Its just a forum where views can be democratically expressed,at least what people like me think..please dont scare people with ur swearing "***" symbols.it looks chinese to me,coz as rightly mentioned by payeng it mimics what it wants to be..and the machine somehow does not look proportionate.i know you must be a big fan..i own an enfield too,this one isnt the cigar.
@payeng
Thanks for the clarity of views.

be very sure before you park your money with the thumper,if you like ripping on highways,you are sorely gonna miss that,100 is easy,having said that the vibrations are crazy starting from 90..holding onto triple digits is not second nature to these new uce engines either.if you have, even a hint of playboy racer left in you,and sometimes you find a trophy in reaching a to b in a certain amount of time, think again..although these bikes do have a charm of their own,which is hard to ignore.

What Might be the On Road Price of this Bike ?
CL 500 Black(i.e basic model) is priced @ 1.45 here in Bangalore.
Considering extra features in TB 500 1.6 sounds apt ? or will it be even higher ? I am seriously considering to buy this provided its in reach
