@backsplash: you are right bout looking chinese kind and out of proportions. But I saw a TBTS here in Munirka with leather saddlebags and wind screen... somehow they complemented the looks... that wasnt looking as disproportionate as original bike (i didnt notice any other changes either)... however I have always wondered what thoughts exactly were going on in the minds of designer when they "gave butterfly handle, slight tear-drop like tank, slightly modified seats, separate lamps and instrument cluster to a normal bullet"... (my precise thoughts when i saw the first gen TB), yet some how I love this bike now...

            true cruiser 4m RE stable(IMO)

Even though i don't like tbts350 strangely tb500 made me drool over it.I feel it looks very appealing and adding a bigger headlamp and alloys makes it the best looking RE till date(IMO-no offense).
I hope this bike doesn't have any problems cruising @100-120.what say guys?

really it is the best looking RE cruiser ... nice projector lamp ... nice butterfly handle

a divided seat with a pillion back cushion
a good looking exaust with a black end tip
              front and rear disc brake
well it looks very compact than other RE ... so i hope if it is compact it is also good in traffic
and well if the front wheel forks were bit slant... it would be awsome and would be more like cruiser

IMHO it looks like Enfield did not know which route to take; to go for the cruiser look or for the retro look .

The suspension geometry is more akin to a standard retro but the seat, the handlebar and the tank say cruiser. They would have a very potent product if the stuck to the standard retro look with a smaller handlebar, a simple one piece seat and a tank similar to the classic. Infact if they transplanted the front and rear end onto a classic they would end up with a nice bike !

I have mixed feelings about the headlight, it might look better if it was mounted closer to the forks, maybe smaller brackets?

OR they could have kicked out the rake and lowered the rear fender to go for the cruiser look.

The cafe racer though is total drool material!

The TBTS500 will truly be a delight for tourers, specially for the projector headlamp. What would have been even better, was a proper pillion seat, and some luggage mounting rails built in, along with custom luggage cases for avid tourers. Not complaining, just suggesting!!

                            The wish is granted
They have done some changes keeping touring in mind like : removable pillion seat through key only , hooks for bungee cords , increased capacity 20 litre petrol tank etc.

@raghu123 according to facebook admin of RE : Booking will not start before April 2012.
