Why is everyone going touring on this bike? Its a city-highway performance bike for short distances. Let it remain at that.
And If you still want to tour- stop cribbing and get touring! It takes just guts and roads!
Remember that guy who toured Up there on the Bajaj M80? And I had some tours on my 4 year old P180 UG3 which is again, hardly a touring machine.
Duke is much better than all that. Still, carry some extra fuel somehow and get it overgeared from a good mechanic.
Or better yet... Wait for "The" Pulsar... (Now, don't go OT on this line. This is the Duke's thread.)---

+1. You know, some guys just need a reason to crib, I still recall Hitanshu touring on his Bajaj Caliber, which can barely to do a true 90 or 95 and here we have a bike which can do a true 140 and still there are people cribbing over it. Some people tour even on bicycleOriginally posted by Samarth 619 View PostWhy is everyone going touring on this bike? Its a city-highway performance bike for short distances. Let it remain at that.

speed is not a problem....people here are concerned about small tank capacity with a range of 250-270kms max....Originally posted by bprags View Post+1. If it bother one so much, what's the problem? Nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing to buy it.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Postspeed is not a problem....people here are concerned about small tank capacity with a range of 250-270kms max....
Concern: Underbelly exhaust/10.5 ltr tank/top speed/blah-blah (whatever)..??
Solution: Very Simple, don't buy it. Move on..

Hi Naveen,Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Postspeed is not a problem....people here are concerned about small tank capacity with a range of 250-270kms max....
That should not be a concern. You just have to plan the ride accordingly.

Payeng, you don't have to feel the heat when people are talking about KTM's comparatively smaller fuel tank. Moreover, the guy you have quoted simply highlighted this point and didn't criticize it like anything. So relax. The small fuel tank is a matter of concern for many bikers as per their preferences and riding styles. One of my friends who tours a lot and is a member on this forum is also concerned about this aspect of KTM 200, irrespective of whatever motorcycle he rides right now. It's a normal discussion which will go on for many days to come and is likely to be a big talking point especially when people start to buy this motorcycle. Just like many of us crib or are concerned about new R15's extremely sport oriented pillion seat which doesn't seem well suited to carry a pillion, people can talk about the smaller fuel tank in KTM 200. But hey, so what, right?
You may be liking this motorcycle too much right now that you may not want to be concerned about anything related to it. This doesn't mean others will/shall not discuss it. And yes, if someone doesn't like it, he'll not buy it. But we all discuss about many things that we do not own.The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Guys Guys - Payeng just made a "matter of factly" statement. Each one have their own likings and dislikings about the Duke.
A manufacturer cannot satisfy everybody's needs.
So the only message that he was trying to convey is - you don't like something, you don't have to buy it.
So chill/peace/harmony and Wait!
But one thing I am sure many would agree - the post dated cheque fiasco is something very unfair. Should've been a common policy at Probiking (Now KTM) all over India.

Edit: Darn! Princesirohi beat me to this!
