Going by the power to CC ratio of the KTM 200, the KTM 375 should make 46.875 bhp. It will be a torque monster.Originally posted by antz.bin View Post

What if both Pulsar and Duke with their 350/375cc engines end up with a power output mightily close / more than even the 300cc Ninja?Originally posted by Shibadip View PostSo once the Pulsar SS, and KTM 350 is launche at a price lesser than Ninja 250, there will be hardly any buyers for it. So Ninja 300 only makes sense to me.

3) Bajaj would not be jeopardising its own plans for Pulsar SS/KTM350 as these bikes would be manufactured in India and would cost way lesser than both 250 & 300. I'm sure there is a huge market in India who would love to own the pulsar and KTM especially for their "value for money" tag.
So all in all, the ninja can be sectioned in a niche category (which it already is thanks to the price tag) while the pulsars and the KTMs can be for the rest.

Why not both?
I'm stumped as to why it doesn't make sense for Bajaj to launch both 250 and 300 variant?
My logic:
1) Currently Bajaj imports the ninja via the CKD mode and assembles it here. As both the 250 & 300 are almost the same, it, IMO, should not be too difficult for Bajaj to assemble both of them here.
2) There is a market here for the 300 even at the 4-4.5L range as the ER6F is more of a sports-tourer and cannot be compared to the 300. I assume that ZX6R (which would be a natural upgrade from the 300 should it be available in India) would be above 7L. I'm not considering the Hyosungs here.

Makes senseOriginally posted by MG View Postthey were expecting that it will do 2000units per month
R15 vs CBR 250R again? Hmm...C150R & R15 would've been more appropriate, but C250R & R15, with difference in technology, price would also matter in a cost conscious market isn't it?Originally posted by MG View Postbut from the last 8months or so CBR250 is roughly selling between 200-400units whereas R15 is selling ~3000units per month. Now you yourself decide whether its doing well or not
Would be an interesting exercise to find out on the numbers of C250R. Meanwhile, came across this for now & will continue finding more

A little heads up here?Originally posted by payeng View PostWell here it is: Indonesia gets 2013 Ninja 250, Ninja 300 for UK. What for India? [Ninja 300: Video] | Bike Chronicles of India
>> Indonesia gets the 2013 Ninja 250
>> In Australia, Canada, UK and probably US the Ninja 300 will replace the Ninja 250
P.S: Its Ninja 250/300 and the "R" tag has been dropped. Good this as the "R" tag is being abused too much these days

Europe rule
Ninja was considered as a beginners bike in europe with 33bhp limit till 25 years etc but with this 300 what will happen?will it let the cbr to become the market leader in that segment?

Yeah, fingers crossedOriginally posted by blizviz View PostJust because India was getting the Euro spec Ninja, does not guarantee that we will get it again.
For example, the 2012 Ninja 250R in the USA had the same spec as the Ninja sold in some parts of Asia. But now, its getting the new Ninja 300.
So, let's not keep our hopes high. (Higher hopes = bigger disappointments!)

Exactly!Originally posted by Boon View PostThe Kawasaki Japan website says it all. They have got both the bikes (Ninja 250 and 300) in the lineup.
link- STREET : Kawasaki ??????????????????
Still, some indian "media" are saying that the 250 does not exist and feeding wrong information to Indian bikers! Very very sad

i dont think it's a "step-motherly" treatment! Different markets have different priorities!Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostAs always the step-motherly treatment to us Indians.
Forget 300,400 Kawasaki, get the 636 ZXR here! Nuff said!
Case in point, the Ducati 795 & 796. 795 was exclusively launched for Asia, due to cost factors. Now, you can't say Ducati was being a step mother for launching a "low-cost" alternative. But, at a lower price, more people are now able to enjoy a bike from an iconic factory!
Same case with the 250. I'm sure kawasaki will not compromise anything with the 250 (and they haven't!). At the given price point, many people in Asian countries are able to enjoy a Ninja!
Even the 250 has been the best selling bike in it's class for more than a decade! So, it speaks volumes about the bike itself!
