Big disappointment. Forget ABS, we are still decades away from the day when we can expect a bike to be launched with FI and LC as standard. All we get in India are sticker-jobs and headlight-fairing mods. HH did it throughout the 90's and now Honda is doing the same with us.
Shame HMSI!Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

LOL....The Honda fanboys kept arguing, its going to be the most tech advanced 150CC. And kept on justifying the price tag of 1L. But I thank Honda for studing the market this time, before launching. The street fire would have flopped real bad in India.
This one actually seems worthy replacement of (Twisterish)Dazzler. Atlast the design is such, that its going to pull the Yamaha SZ and Suzuki GS customer base.
I Bet, this is the best thing Honda could have done, to capture the 150CC segment.
Only pricing needs to be watched, and I am Hopeful, they wont do any blunder.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

The Honda CB Trigger gets Combi Brake System (CBS), which is the first in the 150cc segment. The CBS braking reduces stopping distance by 32 percent. Powering the CB Trigger is a 150cc, air-cooled, spark-ignition, 4-stroke engine which produces 13.81 HP of power at 8500 RPM and 12.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Honda claims a mileage of 60 km/l on the CB Trigger. The company believes the acceleration is one of the best in the segment.
The Honda CB Trigger boasts of an upright sitting position, fully digital instrument cluster, wide seat, black alloy wheels, kick start, full gear lever, full chain case, diamond frame, monoshock rear suspension, 240 mm front disc brake, 220 mm rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, LED tail light, viscous air filter and maintenance free battery. The Honda CB Trigger is available in three colours namely Pearl Siena Red, Meteor Green Metallic and Black.
The Honda CB Trigger will be available from May 2013 and bookings will open next month when the bikes will be dispatched to dealers. Honda will announce the prices of the CB Trigger at the same time. The motorcycle is offered in three variants – CB Trigger Standard features front disc brake, CB Trigger Deluxe features front and rear disc brake, CB Trigger CBS features front and rear disc brake with Combi Brake System. Honda has used the tagline ‘Untame Yourself’. The CB Trigger will sit between the Unicorn and CBR150R in Honda’s 150cc portfolio. Honda targets to sell 39.30 lakh units in India in the fiscal year 2013-14.

Is it us or the news like Hindustan times that published the picture of a commuterish motorcycle with LC engine or HMSI, who were tight lipped about any new launch?
I don't know whom to blame; every time this keeps happening & I've been seeing this is happening right from R15 V2, CBR 250R & RTR launches, some crazy hype going on without any official information claiming, some bird saying, mechanic saying, I mean, who's giving all these hypes? Manufacturer or us? And finally who's to be blamed? The manufacturer!!!
Even Motobeam says...
So why did you guys believe things in first place without hearing out official communication? To get disappointed & bash HMSI?Contrary to reports earlier, this is not the Honda CB150R Streetfire. When Honda sent out invites for the launch event, we looked at the teaser picture (slight portion of the front tyre) and were sure this can’t be the CB150R, even though some popular magazines were hell bent on making everyone believe that Honda is bringing in the Streetfire. Instead this bike can be called the Dazzler in a new avatarSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

shame shame puppy shame hmsi.. i wanted to put my money on the 150 streetfire, my bad. i'd rather buy a unicorn than this.
@rg, this 'hype' is a part and parcel of today's world, and fodder for some. doesn't matter if its a new electronic gadget or an automobile, in today's e-world the hype will be there and spread fast with each adding his own variation to it. that is the reason a simple 150cc could become a monstrous 1500cc and then back to 'just a 150cc'. all in a days work.Last edited by s1d; 03-11-2013, 03:01 PM.

You spoke exactly whats in my mind. We always get a very hyped news for most of the launches. Now everybody starts throwing at the manufacturer and the product because it didn't match the hype. Had this bike been launched without any hype, it would have been different.Originally posted by aargee View PostIs it us or the news like Hindustan times that published the picture of a commuterish motorcycle with LC engine or HMSI, who were tight lipped about any new launch?

The disappointment is not caused by the launch of Trigger instead of Streetfire. The disappointment lies with the attitude of the manufacturers and the way they treat the consumers. Is the Indian motorcycling market not mature enough for a high-performance 150? Do we always have to be the 'motoring wastebin' of the world, accepting miserly substandard 150cc commtuer bikes? On one hand we have KTM bringing in their 390cc and one one hand we have Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda who proudly display the R1 or the Hayabusa or the CBR1000R in their showrooms, but don't have the drive to introduce a single, market-changing product from their existing portfolio.Originally posted by aargee View PostSo why did you guys believe things in first place without hearing out official communication? Every consumer is not just you. There are different segments in every category of bike. This bike is for a different category. FYI, there are R15 and CBR150R in 150cc performance segment.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostThe disappointment is not caused by the launch of Trigger instead of Streetfire. I agree totallyOriginally posted by sambit View PostThe street fire would have flopped real bad in India.
That's not much of a base actuallyOriginally posted by sambit View PostThis one actually seems worthy replacement of (Twisterish)Dazzler. Atlast the design is such, that its going to pull the Yamaha SZ and Suzuki GS customer base.
So an anti-climax eh..?? The auto publications almost convinced me that it was the CB150R "Streetfire" this time. Does it mean that the Dazzler is being put down.. the CBF Stunner PGM-Fi has already been discontinued.

Didn't they already have 2 bikes in the exact same segment (Unicorn and Dazzler)? Why the renaming job then?? If they wanted to add CBS to the Dazzler, just do it and rename it Dazzler DX. Didn't they do the exact same thing with Activa/Activa DX???Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostEvery consumer is not just you. There are different segments in every category of bike. As a matter of fact, we already have a total of 5 bikes in the market using the exact same engine in very very slightly different states of tune (Achiever, Hunk, Xtreme, Unicorn, Dazzler). Thats the real reason for all the disappointment and ranting.
And as for the claim that CBS reduces braking distances by 32%, lets see if the test results agree.
CB Dazzler stopping distance (60-0 kmph): 17.3m
Target for Trigger (60-0 kmph): 17.3 - 32% = 11.74m
For reference:
FZ Stopping Distance (60-0 kmph): 14.89m
If this claim comes true, at least we will have the fastest stopping 150cc bike in the country (USP anyone??).Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

IMO - the 150 streetfire wouldn't have flopped - it may eat into the sales of the current cbr150r. A 150cc naked bike with performance on par with the cbr150r at a cheaper price..umm
but i wonder why 'just another 150cc', their unicorn's are doing good numbers, though the dazzlers are almost extinct now. it will now be a wait and watch if the consumer laps up this new offering or would prefer the regular unicorn.
i love naked bikes and...
