I can forgive the gawdy orange colors, as the KTMonda looks way, way better than the plain-jane one showcased in white.
Those bikes were displayed just for show & hoopla!

      Thats such an anticlimax

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

No need for sarcasm. Anybody in their right senses can understand it was a typo. And thanks for highlighting it. ;-)

Don't blame Honda.. at least for the Girls.. there is at least something to look at

Even Yamaha has put some attractive girls along with the R15 and FZ when it was shown at the 2008 Auto Expo. But yes the 2 Wheeler models made a bigger impact than the 2 legged models at the 2008 Expo.

The bike is "Slim" as it has been primarily designed for the Indonesian/Thailand markets.. the preference in these countries is for light and slim models.

Getting the pricing right would be a really tough task. With "Fuel Injection + Liquid Cooling" it will be very very difficult to price it below the Pulsar 200NS. Would HMSI remove the "Fi" then..??

Well, that is a fast comment and well this is true that CBR150 sales are much lesser than R15 or CBR big bother 250R. Anyways lets not battle about this matter.

About CB150R we dont need Dual disk. KTMish orange with simpler Disk will make us happy. But thats never going to be happen here in India. Anyways what is the arrival date of the bike to Honda showrooms (Kolkata). Is it on the same day of launching ?.

The selling numbers are very poor for CBR150R compared to competitors. A naked version of the same engine with good styling at lesser price would kill the CBR150R instantly.

And, how did you conclude the bold part above?
It is a detuned version of the same engine resulting in moderately better bottom end torque compared to the CBR150R. IF its priced around 90k it could aswell take the market away from the ageing FZ series / RTR's since theyre almost around the same price bracket in the 150-180cc segment. And this also has FI and a liquid cooled engine as a bonus package.
What everyone seems to be forgetting here is that it is tagged as a CB150R where CB = City Biking = commuter segment. This is not aimed at a sports audience instead its aimed at commuters who want a bit more power out of the regular 150cc mil without affecting the fuel economy(perhaps explains why Honda ditched the 150R tyres for the skinny 90/100 front/rear tyres respectively)
Here's the complete specs in the Indonesian language with english captions:

For that to happen there should be a "mass exodus" from well established brands like the FZ's / RTR's .. which I don't see happening. Did not happen with the Dazzler and certainly won't happen with the Streetfire (especially with the thin and slender styling of the Streetfire and a price tag which most probably would be more the Pulsar 200NS).

Also the "aam aadmi", the one who makes up for the bulk numbers are blissfully cluless what Fi or Liquid Cooling is. For him the "Pseudo Radiator Casing" of the FZ will be more appealing than the actual radiator of the Streetfire.

its not as slim as it appears to be minus the tyres. The frame is almost wide enough as the 150R.
Plus a naked liquid cooled fuel injected 150cc with the prominent features(if ported from the indonesian model the way it is in the above video posted) it will have prominent buyers altho not in numbers. I dont think Honda is aiming for the streetfire to better the existing 150R. This is just going to be a variant of the 150R like how Fazer is to FZ16 or FZS with minor changes in styling to appeal to another audience pretty much what Honda is doing with the 500 trio. One package for 3 different category of riders.

This is more like the situation when the first R15 was launched. It had a price tag over a lakh rupees when the pulsars reigned supreme at a mere 80k rupees with more power, more cc and more VFM. And people still complained about the skinny tyres on the v1 yet the V1 did manage to sell enough models for Yamaha to consider an upgrade to v2. It still sold regardless of the tyre size because of its sheer performance and handling(total package as its maker says).
So if the performance is there, people will still buy it regardless of how skinny or small it looks.

There is no naked liquid cooled fuel injected DOHC 150cc in the Indian market. This is going to be one of Honda's targetted 4 models every year Target. They're carving a new market here with this model aswell as the upcoming 400R.

                    • The headlight dome does not resemble the CB150R. Must be a 125cc shine/stunner replacement.

What makes you say that it doesn't resemble the CB150?
Look at the image below - a perfect match, except for those faux air vents!
