Sounds more Rajiv Bajaj to me. More rational too. And why not!
And like how a 200cc Pulsar was built from the Duke 200 platform, so will the Pulsar 375 be, only faired. Sounds more easier than building an engine from an entirely new platform. Rajiv Bajaj? Rational? Why not!
Bajaj in order to cut cost on the faired siblings might NOT go the Duke/RC way, though. Designing the same fairing for both the bikes. But if it does, it could save alot of time and money.
As far as the 300cc "unexplored" territory goes, where is the need to even explore it now? I mean, had I the money (regardless of me being an enthusiat or a poser) would I not prefer the 375 over the 300?(happily assuming the difference in otr would be pretty much the same).
As far as the price difference of 10k between NS and SS 200 goes. Well, the faired parts of a Limited Edition R15 cost 13k, including the metal tank. And these parts from top to toe reek of quality.
Assuming Rajiv Bajaj gives a fairing (exactly) at par in terms of quality as the Jap as well as accepting the fact Yamaha charges a bomb for its LE spares, the Pulsar fairing wouldn't cost more than 10k now would it?

. It's impossible to release the 200SS for just 6k extra IMO with the fairing, twin projector lamps etc. Or did Rahul Bajaj join AAP?!
matters too and that's simply the secret behind R15's success.
