Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
I too heard the news. Don't know whether the showroom people mistaken 300 for 250. But the source below states that 300 isnt for India. They will do some mechanical and cosmetic changes in CBR250. But a two month old news.Originally posted by whencut86 View Post

The 300R was under R&D for over a year in India now so i guess its true.
Here is the import bill from last year
Ignore the pricing because of the levied taxes.

Honda CBR 300R first ride report:
Although it is uncertain whether Honda intends to launch the 300R or the Indonesian version of 250R, if and when it does happen: either way the touring community will be benefitted. 250R with the revised gearing and slight bump on BHPs will offer more or less similar performance to the top end and 300R should have a slightly better low end and top end performance bump. The revised gearing on the 250R offers solace to those riders who hate the gear dance between 1st and 2nd gears on the current CBR 250Rs while on the move in stop and go traffic.
Honda CBR 250R already has a proven track record being a reliable long distance runner just like ZMAs & ZMRs on performance, FE and less niggling issues while on the go. Whether it is the 250R or the new 300R for India, I am sure it will always garner new new audience and prospective owners regardless or new launches from its competitors. Now all we have to do is wait and watch.

Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
Of course yes... Honda would be wise enough to get both the ABS & Non ABS versions on sale... If the price increase takes the ex-showroom price to 1.85L or lesser, I am getting this one.
Was hoping for some solid info / scoop / news from Honda's side for this festive season. But no one is actually talking about this bike

Not to make it another ultra speculative thread and go on an OT spree ... but to answer your question the stock CBR 250R US, UK and Thai models came with IRC tires like you see in the video link above. They are ok in terms of grip and handling and take some time to heat up. But they are nowhere close to Metzelers or Pirellis. I believe 300s in the international market are coming with IRCs.Originally posted by abdulsheikh007 View PostThey criticised the tires

Now coming back to speculation in the Indian context... if and when Honda decides to launch either of these models: i won't be surprised if we get to see the vehicle with the crappy Contigo tires hated by all CBR owners simply because Honda would want to keep the costs down unless, ofcourse they have had a change of heart and have a tie up with MRFs instead. However, let us not get ahead of ourselves and wait for a concrete launch news from the company first.

Guys at honda don't believe in giving dates and leaking spy shots at all. They will just launch it all of sudden any day....Originally posted by shv18 View PostNot to make it another ultra speculative thread and go on an OT spree ... but to answer your question the stock CBR 250R US, UK and Thai models came with IRC tires like you see in the video link above. Says Who..??

I do remember reading/seeing photos of a camouflaged motorcycle with a monoshock being tested way back in 2005 (in the Autocar India Magazine)..
.. eventually it turned out to be the Honda Unicorn.
P.S: Maybe after that episode, Honda stopped testing in India

Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
I'm of the opinion that the Japanese manufacturers have gotten very good at producing motorcycles. What I think that means is that they make the first batch of prototype bikes in their manufacturing plants, refine them and only rarely will these prototypes be seen outside on the public roads, testing for real world conditions.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostGuys at honda don't believe in giving dates and leaking spy shots at all. Also when these bikes are spotted they are usually in an advanced stage of completion. It is rare to see a heavily camouflaged Jap bike.
On the other hand you have Bajaj and a new entrant, Mahindra who have a very long way to go, to get to that stage.
So they test and test and test their bikes till just about everyone interested has seen a heavily camouflaged prototype in just about all parts of the country.
The 200/400SS and the Mojo are just two very popular examples in the current time frame.
They test and test and when the product finally releases and the poor chaps who bought the first batch of bikes start riding them, they get to know just how effective all that super hardcore testing really was
The end result of all this is that with less testing by the Japs there's less spy shots and so we don't know what they will release next.
Whether the companies believe in leaking spy shots is a question we need ask for Bajaj and now Mahindra.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER
