Anyone looking for true performance would choose the N300 over the CB500. The CB500 will be more of a relaxed machine. It won't be lightning fast, it won't be an agile sportbike, but it will strike a good balance. There will be takers for both.
    Torque baby torque! 27Nm (Nin300) vs 41Nm (CB500)...

*Nodding... The CBR500 is again more touring friendly with oodles of torque... its not an out and out track machine (power biased) but more for touring/riding around... check its handle bars... far too upright for a track supersports but perfect for a sports tourer... (Honda also knows where the numbers market is and they most often than not attack it, as in, if it were Honda in place of Triumph, they would surely have released the 675 version instead of the 675r) - very different in sales strategy.

I remember watching a video comparision between the litre class japs and even there they said that the cbr fireblade is way more user friendly than others (as in riding position, way of power delivery).
When Honda can do this to their litre class bike, we can't expect a flat out track machine from them in smaller capacity bike. Honda tries to have all the creamy layer of buyers by giving them what most would want: an easy riding machine.
Whether it is a 250cc facelift or the 300cc or the 500cc, it would surely be a boom for our tourers.
And just as the above post mentioned: loads of torque than bhps..

        Ride safe and have fun.

News about this machine seems to have come off the road and with UK production delayed, I hope Indian production doesnt.
Honda CBR300R production delayed - Motorcycle news : General news - Visordown

Went to a Honda dealership 2 days back, lady told me 300R production in India have already started and the 250R production is stopped. The lady even told me its 31PS
Either Ladies at dealerships are keeping better tabs on internet(which I don't think) or this is a confirmed news.

              KTC Honda, Calicut.
I think thats because they have a good number of 250R's in stock. And moreover, the facelifts so far for India(I mean colors) have come in the second half of the year. So I dont think it will be here until the current color schemes become atleast one year old.

Don't think KTC honda will keep lot of stock for Ceeber. Last time i went there i couldn't even find a display piece. They are more happy and content selling unicorn and activas.

Ok. This may change everything (for me at least). If they release a cbr300 I may forgo the plan to get the d390. I know the duke has more power, value for mulah yada yada but my Chinese genes loves me some full fairing bike.

I am talking about the CBR stock in whole of India.
KTC have 14 CBR 250R's and 4 CBR 150R's in stock now. Though only 2 have been booked. Got info from a friend who works there and there are more than 3 250R's on display now which I personally saw .

I don't think so, only second quarter it seems, around September maybe, though I would love to use a 31PS Honda engine for touring right from next month

In the press release for AE, Honda didn't mention the launch of cbr300r nor cbr500r? AFAIK only activa 125 & cbr650f are the models to be launched.

honda introduced that new color scheme after around 1 year of international launch, so i guess they will bring new 300cc cbr after june/july only. I feel they displayed activa 125 just because they feel 10-12cc difference hardly matters to aam janta but they know very well that youth is well aware of bhp's and cc's which could have hurt cbr250 badly and that is why they kept cbr300 away from auto expo.

Just called the other showroom here, they have no idea about it. They even said CBR 500R and 650F could be in the showroom in 3 months. They just got info that these are displayed at the auto expo and made conclusions themselves. No 300R displayed, so no 300R is coming to India.

Doubtful about the CBR650F launching in 3 months time. Official Honda statements have mentioned that it will only be launched in India in 2015.

Also the reason for not displaying the CBR300 at the Auto Expo could very well be due to huge delay in production of the bike. Visordown has mentioned that the UK deliveries will be delayed by 9 months. No reason has been given by Honda. Therefore, don't hold your breath for the CBR300 to come anytime soon.
