Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
this is a good news, so in the wake of competition, CBR has upgraded itself.
its good since the gap between N300 will be reduced.
feel sad for existing CBR250 owners.
what will happen to CBR250, will its production be stopped..??? if that happens, two major manufacturers will be out of the 250CC class.
if this is going to REPLACE CBR250, then it means... for India also....??
so now CBR has a 250/300, 400 and a 500.
but even CBR300, will not be able to beat Duke390 in performance terms, although both are of different class.
i now want a CBR 400 at the price of Duke390... he he...wishful thinking.

THe bike specs you are quoting belongs to the CB300R which has already been launched. This new CBR300R is a bored out 250 as per reports and that will definitely be a +/- 5ps increase at the very minimum.
As for Honda not having the time to think of anything, well the current 250 was designed almost 3 years ago. So go figure!

Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
Yes its a global model but personally i feel it will be a idiotic move by Honda to discontinue existing 250 in India and bring 300, Their focus should be on bringing in CBR500 / CB500 and pricing it between Ninja 650 & Ninja 300
CBR300 is nothing but same single cylinder engine with bigger bore, new exhaust system & CBR styled fairing now If Honda could keep the pricing align with CBR250 and replace it with CBR300 then its a sure shot winner however in reality we can expect 40K-50K hike in the price which will not go well in market considering the competitive pricing of Duke390 (Not to mention RC390 - Faired Duke is just around the corner)

Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
I fell not all markets will be getting the CBR300R. Similar to the Ninjette, some markets got the 300, while others still had the 250, albeit of the upgraded variety.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postthis is a good news, so in the wake of competition, CBR has upgraded itself.

I guess it all comes down to these points:
1. Market preference
2. Import tariffs (for countries which import the bike in CBU or CKD form)

Whatever the reviews say if you ride a Ninja and CBR back to back you easily get a feeling that there is a vast difference between both the machines in all the performance parameterOriginally posted by Satellite.kid View PostJust for comparison's sake and putting power figures aside, N250 wasn't miles ahead of CBR250R in performance, the ninja's biggest advantage was higher top end.
If India gets CBR300 as CBR250 's replacement then we might never get the 400 and 500
Btw the power figures are confirmed in the below mentioned blog as 31.23PS @ 8500rpm and torque at 26.48NM @ 7250rpm

On paper, it seems like a big (and much needed) upgrade! Compare that to the dyno charts of the old CBR250R from Motorcycle.com...

Re: Honda CBR300R Revealed: xBhp News
If 31 bhp is true, then its not that bad.. Cbr250 is a great bike in itself and with this needed increase in power, the overall performance would get even better..
Still. If honda cancels the 400 and 500 by releasing only the 300, then it might not taste as good..
Ride safe and have fun.
