very true.. the specs are so close to the Ninja 250 and the HX250R weighs less than the Ninja.. but the Ninja has 2 pots.. which means less strain to the engine and less vibrations and a smooth ride.. well, only time can tell
eagerly waiting for this beast

Exactly, but HX though oversquare engine, it has got healthy torque and most importantly it attains peak power at 9000rpm itself...but on the other hand ninja attains peak power @ 11000 rpm only. so HX is pretty relaxed for such over square mill. this makes me confused that how they can able to achieve peak power considerably @ lower rpm. even duke has to rev till 10000 rmp for peak power..!!Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Postvery true.. the specs are so close to the Ninja 250 and the HX250R weighs less than the Ninja.. but the Ninja has 2 pots.. which means less strain to the engine and less vibrations and a smooth ride.. well, only time can tell

Eagerly waiting for this bike as well as the Pulsar 200SS. If the Pulsar turns out to be just another rattling and sqeaking pulsar, its a tough decision for me between the Duke 200 and this piece of hot metal. :-)

A single cylinder peaky setup will be lesser refined than a twin cylinder setup. Ninja has its own advantages and a very established player everywhere, Only time will tell if this can hold a candle to Ninja. I'm curious to see if the bike retains its super less weight as showcased and how handling would be.Fun Starts at Redline!!!

That swing-arm is yuk. Looks like it has been taken from a early 2000's commuter bike. They could have given at-least a box section or something a little more that goes with the bikes size.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostEver seen a back like that?

That is subjective, to me it looks disproportionate from the pictures but like always my final verdict is reserved till the time I see it in person.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View Post sexiest rear view..!!
Its not just about at what rpm the bike is making its peak. Its also about how free revving the engine is. The ninja reaches its redline like nothing is resisting it. Also hx is able to generate this power at a lower rpm because its a comparitively longer stroke machine and is not meant to rev high. This type of a setup may mean, this is tuned to be a sports tourer rather than something much more sportier(ninja 250 for me is also a sports tourer but the peaky engine on that suggests otherwise).Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostExactly, but HX though oversquare engine, it has got healthy torque and most importantly it attains peak power at 9000rpm itself...but on the other hand ninja attains peak power @ 11000 rpm only. so HX is pretty relaxed for such over square mill. this makes me confused that how they can able to achieve peak power considerably @ lower rpm. even duke has to rev till 10000 rmp for peak power..!!
Another thing, only power and light weight does not mean that the bike would be faster. The duke 390 with all that power and torque and way less weight has less top speed than the ninja 300 and only marginally better acceleration. Don't expect too much from a single. Why 2wheels over 4.....

Yeah, agree on the swing arm part. Looks a bit too dis-proportionate compared to the bike size. Also just wanted to clarify, does the pirelli for both front and rear come as default?ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

Brother, a ladder swingarm us expected to be superior. Box section swingarms are our budget item.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostThat swing-arm is yuk. Also for that 4 extra hp duke390 lacks a fairing. What it dies is good for a roadster

agreed on the swing arm part. could have been a rectangular section.
but i highly doubt that it is a longer stroke than ninja, because it has Bore and stroke 81.0mm X 48.5mm, which is shorter than Ninja 250 and much more shorter then Ninja300. this is the reason i am wondering how it generates peak value @ relatively lower rpm, though i agree it is lame to compare both the bikes.but just to get the idea of engine rev characteristics.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostAlso hx is able to generate this power at a lower rpm because its a comparatively longer stroke machine and is not meant to rev high. .

Is it always about looks ocer the performance ? There must be a reason for this kind of swingarm. I dont think they are going to save much by using these.. lets wait and see the functionality which is what i prefer..Originally posted by DukeDey View PostThat swing-arm is yuk. Re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
I own one bro. Its not just 4hp but additional 8nm of torque too but then the way power is being utilised comes into question, I know this. That is what I was trying to explain that only the power fig and weight won't make it as good as a ninja 250. A comparison with ninja should be done once it is able to beat the cbr250(not on paper, that is)Originally posted by kochumvk View PostBrother, a ladder swingarm us expected to be superior.
