True that. Hero means some real business with launch of some awesome bikes and scooters. They have increased their portfolio with wide range of offerings. I am sure Honda will try to be more aggressive now.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Postas per the looks, the HX250R wins it. it looks special and for sure it will be a head turner wherever you go. besides, I don't think we can comment on the bike till we have seen it in flesh. I did go through Google and no one thrashed or laughed at the design. infact, most of them were surprised and happy to see a bike that weighs less than the CBR250..Originally posted by ani2607 View PostSend some links pls..I could just find one canadian forum where they stunned by the power to weight ratio..and honda was being trashed..
they expect Eric Buell to bring in bigger bikes in the range of 400-500 cc and according to them, the cost of this bike in India will be priced equal to the CBR250.. and for that price, this bike is going to sell like hot cakes.. people will choose this over the CBR250.. provided this bike proves the reliability.. for sure people will criticize the bike but as time passes, the bike will be loved by all.. EBR bikes are all too costly and that is one of the reasons their bikes don't sell well in US. but now this tie up with Hero not only will help them reduce the cost of their bikes, but will also help increase their sales... God knows what is going to happen and I believe it is better to wait and watch before saying it is going to be a failure..

Well frankly i dint get a word of all the technicalities they were talking about..but i could just sense that they were happy and waiting for the bike..apart from one or two haters..the overall reception to the bike was quite good..Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostI did go through Google and no one thrashed or laughed at the design. infact, most of them were surprised and happy to see a bike that weighs less than the CBR250..

You are absolutely right. Who doesn't like attention? Anyways I do. And may I ask, WHY do the superbikes and other expensive bikes on sale today look so good? I remember, when the Ninja zx10r came out, everyone here was praising its looks more than anything. The extra attention you get can make certain tasks very easyOriginally posted by Doga View PostMay be you are not. But I am. I like the attention(whatever little of it I get these days
) I get at traffic signals, when kids turn around and raise their hands.
For people suffering with inferiority complex like me, a sexy bike can just be the shot in the arm. Yes I am a poser.
Not saying you do Giftonsamuel, but I think many people say that they don't care about looks just to please the hardcore enthu crowd here at xbhp,
Looks are important for most people, if it were not then OEMs would simply have abolished there design departments, just keeping the RnD.
The Ferraris would simply have looked like Dezires and Lamobrghinis as Fiestas.
Also, I think we should please let the comments flow, even if they come across as a tirade.
People have every right to rant here. Even newbies do.
. If you can buy a bike, ignoring its looks, great. You are a true motorcyclist. And I admire such people. For the rest of us, beauty is something we enjoy each and every time we see it (be it in a bike or wife
).
The HX250R looks quite good. I like it. Especially that exhaust. It's not a very complex design and looks neat. The design is what you expect from a 250cc bike. It's something I can copy on a piece of paper. The 400SS on the other hand has an extremely complex design (probably derived from many other bikes
) and because of that sportsbike kinda look, it will probably turn more heads.

Yes, we all want the new bikes to be reliable. I hope HMC's 5 year warranty would mean that they are sure their engines are reliable.Originally posted by ani2607 View PostThats really bad..half the people wont wait for this then..they will end up taking pulsar or honda or maybe yamaha..i guess they launch their bikes till then..thats the same thing i guess which will happen with me..
Apart from all these..I am really concerned about the reliabilty of new bikes being launched by hero..no longer the tech from honda..Anyways..Only time will tell..
Regarding the launch date, the newer Pulsars and Dukes would come around the same time. Yamaha will come by year end.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I don't understand why a true motorcyclist has to be blind. This would mean most Ducati owners are posers(well may be!!), but my point is that there is nothing wrong in expecting a bike to look good.Originally posted by raging_bull View PostIf you can buy a bike, ignoring its looks, great. Now what 'good' is may be subjective(Though not necessarily so, since there is literature which say that Human beings might have an innate reflex towards beauty).
And I refuse to believe that there are people who don't give a rats ass for the looks of his ride/potential ride, unless his leydig cells are malfunctioning.
This guy would never hate any scratch on his new bike. Are there any?
If one buys an ugly(to him) bike because it has awesome performance specs, then he may be/may not be a true motorcyclist. All we can say is that he is making a compromise with the looks.
A lot of OT btw, let's focus on the HX 250 R which is quite nice to look at btwThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

, here is eye candy for all your questions...
There was no Karizma-R and frankly speaking I didn't like the ZMR much, but it was looking better than before from back with 120 section tyre...

re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Dude... Seriously? OBVIOUSLY looks do count man. But what am trying to convey is that the functionality of the visor is more important than the fact that it makes it looks ugly. A very simple statement. And i never said i don't bother about looks. I said the functionality of the part (in this case:visor) is more important than the fact that it makes it look ugly.Originally posted by Doga View PostI don't understand why a true motorcyclist has to be blind. re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Ugly is not a term that I can associate with Hx. If it was the karizma refresh I will agree.
It's actually a balance. A bike should have enough performance and should look decent if not beautiful.
Here in Hx 's case we have more than enough of both. So let's agree they just made a good product.
Notably some companies are making products with sub par performance and ugly design. A 250 from China and a 1000 cc class
accelerating electric from Japan are examples. Generally such products also comes with a prohibitively high price tag for what they offer. So it's easy to identify.
Let's just enjoy the new found 250 - 400 cc revolution in India.
Now I wanna read the review of all these Indian bikes by MCN etc
