Is it really?! Then I guess most people on this planet are probably ineligible to say what is beautiful and what is not. The statement "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" isn't without a reason. I do not need to "truly" understand or study automobile design to find something beautiful. And to me, HX250R looks beautiful, thank you.

It's a straightforward sharp design with relatively comfortable ergos given the raised handle position. The wind shield is tall and shall serve good while doing triple digit speeds. Obviously, we'll know that for sure only after riding it.
sure man. it is frustration. about the fact that manufacturers approve designs that look like a half-baked effort.
the bike looks more than half decent in profile. but the front looks, well... like a half baked idea.
this isn't the new Hero Splendor. Hero is supposedly trying to make a (global) statement with this.
So why come up with a product that looks like they give up halfway.

I probably would have preferred the HX250R "unfaired".

of course, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. i chose to call a spade an ugly spade. it's all relative. yes, sure.

but there is a technical side to design which 99% of consumers aren't aware of.
and yea, that's where "beauty" comes in.

but like they say in design circles, if you really want to know if your design(s) are good ask other designers not your family or friends.
because that's where you'll get true feedback.

P.S: the tank on the HX250R is gorgeous actually. (everything but the headlights and the fairing actually)

Definitely won't argue if you find it so bad looking. Ofcourse, you have your opinion.

But to the part in the bold. Are you referring to the functional aspect of the design? Or probably you are aligning beauty with functionality may be? If that is so then I don't have much to say on this as I am not a professional designer. But I have based my opinion on what looks beautiful to my eyes And that is my point, I am not trying to find functional boundaries of the design of the HX250R. Again, if that is what you tried to infer from the text in bold.

I have only seen the pics, haven't visited the expo yet. From the pics, especially from the proper side profile, it does looks quite proportionate to me though the visor seems to be a bit taller than required. But as I said, it could serve its purpose very well.

I am not sure whether the underseat exhaust would make it into production, but so far it does look like a neat job. That's it. Obviously, as you can see, I am not basing my opinion on the technical side of the design. That is probably a different type of discussion.

But I will definitely share my input more enthusiastically if I visit the expo and see it in flesh.

PS: On the other hand, I am very happy that the HX250R could probably be the lightest and the most powerful fully faired, Single cylinder 250cc motorcycle among other 250cc production motorcycles. 31PS with 139kgs wet weight!! It's basic specs are better than the CBR250R. If it turns out to be a reliable, smooth and a competitively handling motorcycle, then Hero has definitely done their job very well.

Guys a sincere request, lets agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Please understand, its a generic request to restore the sanity of this forum (before profanations).

Owing to the Expo, a lot of visitors or new members are looking into the forums, lets not leave them with a bad taste .

In some of the pics online I could find Japanese showing some interest in this bike and taking a closer look, its a shame that many of the forum members(Indians) are bashing Hero for no reason. These comments are no different than" I reached 160 on my unicorn(assuming it to be topspeed just by looking at the speedo), unicorn rocks Ninja sucks " kind of comment on FB pages.

After looking at awesome launches from Indian companies(Hero,Bajaj,Mahindra and TVS), it feels good!

              P.S: No offence to anyone.

Typical newbie who has the habit of making nonsensical comments in FB and youtube. Have you come here with similar intentions? There's another joker who joined in sept-oct who like this particular specimen, tries to post all kinds of bulls**t. This is not the place for cartoons like you to make fool of yourselves and start disrupting the order here. Refrain from making harsh or direct comments.
Mods must seriously bring in some rules to restrict the kind of people who are coming in. Crosses the tolerance limits, specially when we come here to find if there is any further info but end up seeing cartoons like this one, spreading nonsense everywhere.
Sorry if i sound harsh but please refrain from talking nonsense. Even others will have to go OT as these comments make us uneasy.

May be you are not. But I am. I like the attention(whatever little of it I get these days ) I get at traffic signals, when kids turn around and raise their hands.
For people suffering with inferiority complex like me, a sexy bike can just be the shot in the arm. Yes I am a poser.
Not saying you do Giftonsamuel, but I think many people say that they don't care about looks just to please the hardcore enthu crowd here at xbhp,
Looks are important for most people, if it were not then OEMs would simply have abolished there design departments, just keeping the RnD.
The Ferraris would simply have looked like Dezires and Lamobrghinis as Fiestas.

Also, I think we should please let the comments flow, even if they come across as a tirade.
People have every right to rant here. Even newbies do.
The good about this forum as compared to the other(predominantly car) forum is the less stringent moderation and the variety of members, coming from all age groups and places(the other forum to me has mostly veterans who know their stuff, which of course means their pages may be a better read). Of course this comes with its own set of problems like comments going astray, sms lingo, pedestrian English etc. But I think we should embrace that as a sign of our diversity and inclusiveness.
We always have the option of ignoring comments and not getting sucked into petty fights.
