i don't think so as Hero has already mentioned the engine was developed by them with the help of EBR professionals.. besides, if they were sharing the engine of CBR, then Hero would have to pay heavy amount to Honda. I don't think Hero would want to do that...Originally posted by kusmaker View PostIt's quite possible that this bike might be based on the lines of CBR 250r as Honda bike is also singly cylinder and so is the HX.Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
No the bike is not at all based on CBR 250R, there's a new frame with a new potent 2500cc engine too.Originally posted by kusmaker View PostIt's quite possible that this bike might be based on the lines of CBR 250r as Honda bike is also singly cylinder and so is the HX.
Was reading an article on HX250R by Motorcycle Daily & read a comment by a modifier there, he stated that EBR have done a very clever work in designing the 250cc engine, he also stated that this engine could work as a base for developing a higher displacement 360cc engine all they need to do is increasing the stroke length, bringing in bigger valve & changing the camshaft whereas the rings, gaskets, bearings, oil pump, and most importantly cases and cranks could be shared between different displacement and different performance spec versions.
& guys I have a query what does 'over square' means in the term "The engine being so OVER SQUARE''

An engine is described as oversquare or short-stroke if its cylinders have a greater bore diameter than its stroke length, giving a bore/stroke ratio greater than 1:1.Originally posted by Jitu Badlani View Post& guys I have a query what does 'over square' means in the term "The engine being so OVER SQUARE''

No no iam not saying that Hero is borrowing engine from Honda, hero will not make such a mistake, they want to establish themselves as an proper automotive company who has got his own R&D centre, what i am saying is that they might have kept the Cbr in there mind while designing this bike, after all they have to first compete with Honda in there game.

If Hero's this 250 cc bike prove to be successfull then it will pave way for the future products of higher capacity models.

their focus is to compete with Honda it looks like.. if this bike is good (EBR bike are generally at top except they are over priced) then Hero is going to have a rock solid future.. also their new RnD head from BMW.. Designs are gonna be sexy.. waiting for them to start the production.. and I am waiting for an inline 4 from hero
Otherwise it is a Daytona 675 for me no matter how long it takes.. I can wait for 10 years and I am sure my ZMR will do justice for me till then and forever

Re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Inline 4 cylinders from hero well if they can achieve this feat then this company will become giant, but to achieve this task they should then focus on world of motorcycle racing, all three of these motorcycle manufacturer, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki has pretty long history of racing, which has given them enormous amount of knowledge and learning from race track and the learning then transfers to road bikes.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostAh.. You can keep ZMR with you as long as the parts are available, these bikes are pretty rock solid and nothing goes wrong with Hero bikes most of the times.

Re: Hero HX250r revealed, with 31ps Liquid Cooled Engine: xBhp News
Well, they are the major sponsors for EBR racing in SBK and I guess they would have access to the bikes from EBR.. so, I guess it is quite possible for Hero to come up with a 600 + beast sooner that we expected from an Indian ManufacturerOriginally posted by kusmaker View PostInline 4 cylinders from hero well if they can achieve this feat then this company will become giant, but to achieve this task they should then focus on world of motorcycle racing, all three of these motorcycle manufacturer, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki has pretty long history of racing, which has given them enormous amount of knowledge and learning from race track and the learning then transfers to road bikes.

of course, the Hastur is already a concept which is going to be live by the end of next year
it is getting exciting..
regarding the HX250R.. its going to give a tough competition to the Honda India stable.. Waiting for the HX250R.. being developed with the help of EBR professionals, I am quite sure the bike is going to be ultra smooth and the reliability is going to be as good.. refinement i am not sure about as the Americans never were able to bring in refinement like the Japs didSplendor - 2k to 2006

Well i believe Americans have a different approach towards automobiles be it Motorcycles or Cars, they want them as badass and noisy as they could be, that's why they have got bigger engines, with lots of torque although the longs freeways in America also promotes this kinds of vehicles.
Japs want there engines to be smooth, silent, and super duper reliable.

Yeah bit of OT but still glued and eagerly waiting for this beautiful looking Hero bike Hx from Hero. But hero should test the bike properly before launching, surely they don't want to goof up the bike as this bike is the most important factor for the future of the company.Last edited by kusmaker; 08-26-2014, 07:43 PM.

Ya i love muscle cars. Be it Ford mustang, chevy corvette, camarao, dodge charger and viper, and mother of all Shelby Gt 500 cobra. They have raw power and torque to uproot tarmac from the ground. But Hero will not do that as they know indian customers more than anybody else.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostGotta accept.. The muscle cars.. Ford Mustang.. what a beauty she is.. I like Vin diesel when he drives muscle cars in fast & furious series. Strangely i do not like modern sleek cars. Even in bikes i like simpler looking bikes than sporty and garish looking bikes.
