Re: Yamaha R25 Launched in Indonesia

Amazing looks... Looks best in the Blue White Combo... <3 <3 <3 I am in Love...
And yes it is a twin cylinder, liquid cooled, 8 valve DOHC.. Bring it to India.. Yamaha...ASAP...
    <3 <3 <3
Dont know if anybody felt this but the bike looks a bit beefy to me.. So I guess we will also get the BIG bike feel.. The overall size seems similar to the Ninja 300...
Finally, my drooling for the ninja 300 will stop... Thanks Yami..

    Thank God For Yamaha...

Yup its a twin. the tail section as per me had to be a little different. it does give CBRish feel. i am talking only about tail section.

the M1 design cant be for the production model. i had told this long back. they have got completely new chassis and design and also engine. i guess thats more than enough to say that other r series owners, r125 and r15 especially, will not complain. just like what cbr250 and cbr150 were. its expected to be 25.L here. but its still a speculation since its will mostly manufactured here (fingers crossed), pricing might come down a little.

and i am sure when you ride that 36ps machine at 14k rpm and hitting that limiter, you will forget the whole damn world and thats what matters

but... is it just me or does anyone else think this looks more like a CBR than the R25 design we've been expecting?

i know it was a prototype but virtually EVERYTHING is different sans the "R25" name.

looks like crap compared to the "prototype

        The R25 that was launched.

looks more R1ish than M1ish to me. Design-wise, I see ZERO M1 inspiration.

I'd probably have to see the bike in the flesh before i pass final judgement... but in pictures, the N300 looks stunning compared to this Honda-ey looking 250.

        .
Aptly noted brother, this is crap in front of the prototype, the reason why I don't like looks of cbr, is same with R25 ,it looks too much fat, side farings should be sharp, not rounded, but 36ps is a massively impressive figure, and if launched at 2-2.5L₹ ,THIS would be a perfect steal and a proper affordable upgrade for 220,200ns,R15 guys and even for cbr fellas

Looks good. Specs are good as well. If YAMAHA can price it around 2.15 lakhs in India and launches it within October-November, then the wait will be worth it!

Re: Yamaha R25 Launched in Indonesia

Looks like a cross between the R15 and R125, the fuel tank looks very similar to the R15 which gives it that smallish look, V2 tail and the front fairings similar to the R125, shame it's not too similar to the prototype, none the less it's got decent power and looks, can't see ABS and i'm guessing a single cylinder, until all the details are out i'm still more inclined to go for the RC390.

EDIT: So it's a twin? that's a definite plus, now ABS?

Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

You guys shouldn't keep high hopes of having a price of 2.15-2.25L and be offended by high pricing later. If we ask for a premium, then we should also be prepared to shell out a similar premium.

                  Ride safe and have fun.

can a single cyl engine have 8 valve?

and front fairings no where close to r125.

Whoa....finally the wait is over and that too in an awesome note...definitely will be a hot cake for the yamaha die hard fans and good enough for cbr guy like me to shift loyality !!! Looks like a single cylinder and with 36ps @ 12k means there might not be a R3 waiting...this product should be good enough to engage head on with all 250-390 competitors...so may be their next target would be the twine 500/600 category with the speculations of honda launching one in near future. Expecting the price be around 2.2L for Non-abs and ~2.5L for abs (if any). Finally the waiting was worthwhile, good job Yamaha

Guys it's a twin cylinder! Stop speculating that it seems like a single cylinder! Read this :

The bike is powered by a brand new two-cylinder four-stroke 250cc liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 36PS@12000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 10,000rpm. It runs a six-speed gearbox. The R25 weighs in at 166kg, which isn’t too heavy but not featherlight either. The bike will be be priced at around 53 million Indonesian Rupiah (approx: Rs. 2.7-2.8 lakh).

Thanks a lot for the information, yes it's a twin !!! Means if they priced it below 3L, it will hit directly cbr250 as well as N300. Now if they launch the same bike in India, there is less chance they will introduce R3 too. Instead they made this 250 twin that produces 36ps vs 39ps of N300 and with a big gap in price, this will definitely be a winner !!! Yes Yamaha !!!

However, that still puts up a big fight against the Ninja!

Didn't see the 8 valves, subsequently edited the post, front has a similar "boomerang" shape as the R125, which is derived from some older models of the R1. Still it's a neat bike, tempting if/when it becomes available, hopefully some production will be done in India like on the R15, even though many parts we use are imported from Indonesia it's still reasonably priced, anyways I want ABS on my next bike, so I hope it's at least an option.
