Man! if it turns out to be a single someone's gonna have to run for cover. ;-)
Its gonna be a twin twin twin....... No doubt in this. Think of what needs to be changed when a bike made for twin is changed to single. It needs different frame ( mounting points ), different ECU, Tacho, exhausts and so on.. Do you thinks its worth doing all this just for sale numbers in one or two countries ?? Nope imo

Re: Yamaha R25 Launched in Indonesia

Wow. I guess someone wants this thread to be renamed as "Yamaha fanboy thread". I wonder why that wasn't done when it was created. I really laugh at the heights to which some fanboys go when someone even thinks of a small negative point of a vehicle made by their favourite brand. Last time I remember doing that was when I was younger than 10 and riding bicycles. I don't know about the fanboy sites, but xBhp's bike related discussion threads involve discussing both the positive and negative points about a bike. If a new rule was brought in which stated that a news thread regarding a bike's launch should be used only to kiss a bike's ***, my apologies. I guess I'll have to follow that. But I haven't come across any such rule yet. If someone can point me there, I'll be thankful.
Let me say this again, this is xBHP, not some crappy fanboy site where members keep on worshipping a particular brand/model without even mentioning the shortcomings. The fanboys need to stop carrying out their childish acts and get a life. Let us carry out some mature and neutral discussion here without wasting time on non sense one sided favouritism like 10 year old kids.

I hope Yamaha brings in a full set of accessories here and prices it sanely. I hope it doesn't go in the KTM powerparts path. After seeing the kits for R15 and FZ16, it's highly possible that they'll be brought here though.

BTW not sure how many of you noticed the powerful lights for the r25 and also a better battery.

PS: To people posting posts which have already been posted before, either you have not been following the thread from the beginning (which i understand is tedious but not impossible) or you are just too lazy to even read few posts from earlier.

PPS: to people who are active in RC390 thread and also here(yes i keep checking there also), slamming r25 or making stupid speculations here and creating endless debates and then going to RC thread and commenting nice about it, Please get a life. either discuss something meaningful or dont waste others time. if you are prospective buyer of other bike then please discuss there and contribute in better way just like few prospective buyers of r25 are here. Thanks in advance.

So far it looks the Japanese strategy is: if its made in India its gonna be a single. If you want twin or better then its a CKD.
Maybe be this might change in the future.

BTW, 883 can you please tone down the fonts you use. Using large fonts is akin to shouting. Why are you shouting?

well that'd be such a disappointment then, despite the fact that it'd be a yamaha after all and that 30ps on a single cyl 250 is impressive nonetheless..

but i don't think yamaha's gonna do that...either way, they better speak up something about the indian R25 asap.

if indeed the indian R25 is a single cyl, then i really really hope the (expected) supersport R3 meant primarily for EU/NA is also launched in india, even though the R3 is still probably more than a year at least from becoming a reality even in europe...am in no hurry anyways.

I don't understand or see any reason for Yamaha to create two engines for the same segment bike. I mean why would they spend their time and money inventing and testing a new engine, when the benefit is negligible and with a drop in performance to boot. Even with single cylinder the bikes got to cost near about 2L INR anyway. Besides, Honda in going to bring CBR300R which could easily take the shine away from the Yamaha's new machine in case they do bring out a single cylinder.
Considering all this I think we would be getting the same version as launched in Indonesia, the thing to watch out for would be the price at which the bike is offered.

^^That's disappointing. One of the strongest points of this bike is its engine, if that too is diluted(along with the other things already known), there'd be no reason to consider the 30PS machine over the 43PS RC390 which would cost roughly the same.

Exactly, same here. A single pot will be the disappointment.
But i don't think that's gonna happen. It will be a twin.
