    I am Optimistic about this bikes future. However, all comes down to the pricing. If its around 2.5L then I don't see why not the R25 will be a huge success. Lets hope we get it soon.

      AFAIK, R25 will first come as a CKD and then after a year or so, when the Yamaha Chennai plant comes up and becomes fully operational, R25 will be produced in India. Till then it will be a shortage of supply and the bike will be priced high, mostly north of 3L.

        since there is no separate thread for this and since i and some others have briefly raised the topic of 4 cyl 250s here a couple of times and since i had posted an earlier article on this new rumoured kawasaki 250 four only a few days ago, here's another new one that says it could very well be a reality in the next 2 years - Kawasaki 250 four: update - Motorcycle news: New bikes - Visordown

          Is it only me who feels the front end of the bike looks fish eyed or bug eyed ? IMHO, R15 V2 looks a lot better than R25. Looks like Yam has made the riding position less radical with such high stance of the clip ons. Love the twin cylinder though.

            Felt the same as you. But this is only when I look at it from the side angle. Otherwise from the front, i like it.. and yup, the twin cylinder is a class apart..

              May be I need to see it in person, till then my heart is with the V2 look wise. Now I really wish to know how R25 performs in the track.

                you might not need to wait for long, according to news i got, bike might come in next 2 months to major cities [test mules] and as of now the price point there were some discussion in Yam circle of being kept 2.5L exshowroom.
                recently there has been massive checking of showrooms/service centers is going on by Japs in india, might be launch of r25 on cards in near future

                  Even then this year launch is doubtful. Mechanics have no news of training which is supposed to be conducted if launch is imminent.

                      The R15 was the first of its kind for India in 2008. In 2014 full fairing is no more a big head turner..

                      ..in fact guys have started to prefer the thump of the Royal Enfields over the full faired R15, CBR150R/250R, ZMR. I see more new RE models on the streets of Bangalore than full faired ones. The management of Yamaha India will have to have a really strong reason to get the R25.

                      Unless the R25 is manufactured in India, I see its chances of making it to India in the near future very very slim.

                        I don't know if the R25 will make it or not in India. But in coming two years,Yamaha will do something that will make us forget the R25. This news comes from a very reliable source in Indian automobile industry.

                        Yamaha will setup a proper R&D center in India. Most probably in south India.[my guess in Chennai] They will then start an Indian design studio like Honda has. And that means big bikes designed and made in India!!!

                            Seems like Yamaha is gonna take considerable time before they start revving Indian hearts.

                              it can also mean 100 - 125 cc commuter bikes for india, designed in india, and more concentrated efforts towards rat race.

                                Maybe Yamaha is quite happy with their recent profits and hence not trying much to bring higher cc performance bikes here
                                Hate them for this.
