The two bikes were launched together in Delhi. The Adventure Sports bikes as they have been called are built on the same base as the 200NS. The AS 200 is identical to the Pulsar 200NS barring the semi-fairing and projector headlamp setup with a taller windscreen. The bikes do look good in the flesh and are attractively priced, especially the AS200, which is at the same price point as the 200NS and Rs 5000/- more than the ever popular Pulsar 220. Though this is an introductory price and one can expect a price rise in the near future. Would this then be the end of the Pulsar 220, opinion is split as Bajaj says that both will be sold simultaneously. We expect the P220 to eventually be discontinued if the AS200 gains popularity and sales figures!
Bajaj is offering three variants on the same base in the form of the 200NS, AS200 and RS200, with the hope that every customer will find something that he/she likes in the Bajaj stable. Will this work or will the bikes eat into each others sales? We believe that there is a market for all three bikes in India as customers tastes are getting more particular.
With a name like Adventure Sports, one would expect a large fuel tank, higher ground clearance, dual purpose tyres and some more bits and bobs which are associated with that name. Unfortunately the AS200 has none of it. But if you put the name aside, the bike is a good deal by itself. The now proven 200NS with a taller windscreen, half-fairing and a 55W projector headlamp would make for good motorcycle to tour on. The bikes are available in three colours - black, blue and red.

He further commented, “We have always led on product initiatives and have continuously expanded the Pulsar range to cater to the various consumer preferences in the Sports segment. The Adventure Sports series will further expand and grow this segment by offering a product which matches up to the new age consumer’s lifestyle and riding requirements.”
The Pulsar AS 150 will run on a 149.5 cc Twin Spark, 4-Valve Air Cooled DTSi engine which will churn out an industry leading 17 PS of power at 9500 RPM.
The Pulsar AS 200 will be priced at Rs 91,550 and the Pulsar AS 150 at Rs 79,000 (both Ex Showroom N. Delhi) and will be available across all Bajaj Auto dealerships. They are available in three colours – Red, Black and Blue.
