Interesting launches. Bikes look proportionate as well, unlike the RS. At that price, the 220 customers will be swayed away to AS. Now question is, will the old P150/180 survive with these or be scrapped? Scraping would be a bad idea as the Old P150 is still a very practical family bike.

Why will anyone buy Pulsar 200ns now? at same price you get better deal in AS 200

Though Bajaj claims they want to sell both the 220 and 200AS side by side, but I think it is just a matter of time that the 220 is discontinued. The AS200 is a better option any day for a prospective 220 owner with more power and a newer engine.

But what about 200NS, do you think its Sales might go down or Bajaj might shut its production all together ?

My curiosity arises from that fact that I have to pick up a booked 200NS in a day or two(booked with a nominal amount) and with this launch I'm in a bit of dilemma about the future of NS.

I was supposed to pick it up yesterday but the stockyard folks sent in AS200 models instead of NS and the I heard the truck guy saying ki sahab NS bandd ho rahi hai aab naya AS hi aayega, to which I replied with saying impossible and get me my NS soon.

Now,call it fortunate or unfortunate, I have a day or two more to make the final payment.

Its very nice to seen an Indian Company launching new AFFORDABLE bikes in 150cc+ bike segment ,when companies like Honda,Yamaha are happy with launching 100-150cc bikes.
Whatever people might speak ,there are still many out there who will purchase these bikes.

Face of the p220f looks still best
As200/as150 looks like end moment added projector

Besides i had a look on somebodys 200RS the plastic and graphics looked inferior to yamaha and honda though looks awesome (might be because colour as its was yellow and did not feel as mettalic)

P.s Do not get into to war it just a view
I was although attracted by pulsar but just bought honda due to fear of durability !

I do not see any reasons for Bajaj to discontinue the NS200 as it makes more sense for them to keep a variety in their stable in the form of a naked, semi faired, and a fully faired bike than keeping 2 semi faired in almost the same bracket.

Also worst case scenario even if the 200NS is discontinued, you won't have any issues with getting spares as from inside the AS is exactly as the same as NS.

                        So chill and don't worry!

This thread is filled with a little more negativity than the bike deserves. As the monk pointed out. This will turn out to be a very capable tourer. With that smooth decently fuel efficient 23bhp motor, projector headlamps and semi-fairing the 200AS will turn out to be a reliable highway companion.

An Indian manufacturer is launching game changing products in the performance segment while the japs just sit on their asses and sell scooters or whatever. I say we applaud Bajaj instead of spreading negative sentiments.

The AS has everything the versatile 220 never had, so I guess it is in one kind of way a closure to many. I do hope the 220 series sees a graceful end with the onset of the AS. Getting a 220 now would be only because one prefers the looks over the AS, in all essence the AS makes the rightful choice for a complete all rounder bike.

First off, glad to see, Bajaj sticking to their notion of new launches every month. Double thumbs up.

Secondly I think it's a little condescending to concur to what Rahul is trying to state. I am not here to debate what is safer and what is not, the jury is out there. But how bonkers would it be to blatantly state cars go on bumping motorcyclists. No offense, aren't we the ones who take lane changing for granted, aren't we the ones, who are tranformed to Rossi in every signal, aren't we the ones who are overloaded (triples, quadruples) aren't we the one who's supposed to wear helmets, aren't we supposed to know that big machines means more damage, aren't we supposed to ride with common sense and caution. Aren we supposed to be "GEARED ALL THE TIME" Doesn't all the above piss us off as a motorcyclist. Try changing pots the same with a driver!

Rahul is the guy who introduced a four wheeler from his two wheeler stable RE60, I hope he keeps that in mind, if people go GO-KARTING as he's conferred to, then why in the first place did you manufacture one.

Astute remarks are one, but over-astute are another.

                              Enjoy the launch show guys.

                              Ride safe!

                              Cheers!

C'mon mate, don't get worried because a stockist felt that the NS would seize production, that is not going to happen, the 220 and all maybe, but not the NS, it is here to stay for a long time.

And other going bonkers on the naming part, c'on people, as far as Bajaj is concerned they need something to attract the normal janta, you or me are not going to be fooled by this and you or me are not going to shy away from this bike because the name doesn't suit your liking. So let's leave that there and hope it turns out to be a good product.

                              Cheers
