  • Re: RS200 Alloy Wheel breaking issue!

This thread needs to be locked until the next alloy breaks or the user comes forward or Bajaj releases a new statement. None of which is gonna happen.

Five people going on and on about the same thing is not gonna change the mind of a corporate guys. Take a chill pill. Dont buy Bajaj. Dont recommend Bajaj.
    Regardless, Life shall go on.

If this could be the last post then here are my words on this topic.

        1. It seems that the wheel breaking was a one off incident no other report has surfaced after that
        2. The handlebar issue has no conclusion as there is not much data available on it e.g have all the vehicles been in an accident and then broken or just brittle and broken under riding pressure (if you know about it then please post it)
        3. There are multiple vehicles with their own unique strengths, no one manufacturer is providing everything, but the RS is VFM. It just is, hands down!
        4. Bajaj must take these incidents seriously and must provide compensation to the people involved it is part of their corporate responsibility.

I booked an RS 2 days before and I'm happy about it. Members who bash any product it is fine as long as the debate remains healthy and provides a proper knowledge transfer to the people involved. Posers are supposed to be dealt at the posing level and not what they ride.

No sir, no bad luck here. I have other vehicles as well which run absolutely perfect. I prefer to call it as wrong decisions!

I am not sure which 200 are you talking about DTSi or the NS?

DTSi was comparatively better than NS in the quality dept. It had less number of component failure. I think in NS there is extreme cost cutting to keep the final price in check.

Maybe i got lemon, which is a high probability with Bajaj.

Let me share a list of component failure/ problems that occurred in 2.5 years (29,000 kms) -

          1. Rear disk replaced in initial 15 days of ownership due to noise
          2. Rear wheel bearing changed as well due to noise
          3. Number plate light assy fell off while riding for no reason
          4. Piston ring failure in just 17,000kms even after regular service and personal attention - Ring, cylinder kit and rocker arm changed as they has problems as well. All were thankfully done under warranty
          5. Silencer issues - Gasket located at the joint of muffler and pipe failed twice causing the exhaust pipe to rattle loudly. Gaskets can fail but twice? You can guess the quality being offered
          6. Silencer almost fell off as it came loose on its own
          7. Petrol Tank (metal one inside the fiber tank) developed leakage on its own RISKING MY LIFE - I had to replace it on my own expense as the warranty was over till that time
          8. Rear monoshock failed and bottom out - had to pay for it as well (in just 20,000kms). No offroading or any stunts done, i am just an office commuter!

These are 'little' problems that i have had in my ownership experience till now.

All these point out to only one thing - QUALITY ISSUES / POORLY BUILT VEHICLE !

I also know many people who do not even have a single problem in their NS.

Maybe that poor soul who crashed his RS also got a lemon like me but his lemon was much more sour.

As you said move on to another company now. Yes, indeed i will no more Bajaj/KTM for me now.

Quality is very very important that's what i have learnt after using Bajaj.

Pictures of a crashed Bajaj Pulsar RS200 owing to a collapsed alloy wheel sent the motorcycle fraternity into frenzy with many blaming Bajaj Auto for supplying poor quality wheels. The Chakan based manufacturer has undertaken a thorough analysis and the results might shock you!

They do say that , Bajaj did a stress analysis simulation, and concluded about the incident, yet I didn't find any pics of the stress analysis ..

It's high-time that we lock this thread, just to keep it gunk free. Lo and behold, hasn't yielded anything positive as of yet, so until, we get some concrete evidence that propels itself to be a worthy enough evidence, the thread will be locked.

                  Thanks!

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
