I mean, Bajaj HAS TESTED IT and KNOWS It's DEFECTIVE.But again,They Don't care. They know what our Brainless idiots want - Features,Fuel Efficiency and loads of these.
They want the 'Hai Gaaiz,I am Baih Palsar,LED Balp,Aii Feecher Baik' to be THAT SAME WAY and NOT 'Hi Guys,I have brought the Pulsar 200 RS and Bajaj has upped the Build Quality of the Parts' - Just because the majority of people buying (I am not saying All of them) Pulsars are the First Category.Even while knowing these,PEOPLE STILL BUY THEM !! Ofcourse,Bajaj has their own testing facility from Nuts to the Whole Bike 3DS Modelling.THEY JUST WON'T because they know Majority of the buyers for this bike out there, are always wanting Cool Features and Good Mileage and for that,THEY WILL NOT give a Hand and leg so that you will get Good Quality Features and Parts. So for the Price,They created a Bike with Low Quality Parts and it's Alloys and Handlebar made of IRCTC Tincan Sheets.
You really think any manufacturer would want bad publicity?
The RS has been spied testing for a really long time, it's a product that replaces their flagship. A compromise there is 'unlikely'

I got a chance to ride the 200ns prototype all the way to Leh and back, we didn't have any of these issues, and we did abuse the bikes to its max! Yet.. Nothing to complain! An year ago I bought a NS, and it's chain slack needs adjustment every 500kms. Terrible built quality there!
Features aren't a bad thing, the RS is quite a neat product, but yeah consistency in quality is something that hasn't been Bajaj's strength!

1 It's been 6k on odo n I haven't even had a puncture. The alloy issue has been sorted out by the company to a great extent. And also there has been plethora of upgrades in the new 2015 model which has made the bike even more desirable. I don't know why people have so much of animosity towards KTM, just because it's associated with Bajaj !!

2 Haters gonna hate, buyers gonna buy. This holds true for all consumer products. For people like me who are on a budget, KTM has delivered on our dreams.

I agree that manufacturers do have an eye on such online forums/publications, but as you said if 'what steps they take after reading it is not in our hands' then I feel the purpose is just lost. The manufacturers probably already consider us as a bunch of trolls ! With such news eventually dying out after a few rants and mumblings by users in general.
1 I have personally seen how things can be swept under the carpet unless the issue is contested firmly (i mentioned this earlier on this thread, and was not surprised to see that guys fb post taken down).. which unfortunately very few do. With this, I rest my case and would not want to discuss it further.

2 And at the guy who asks why bajaj doesn't source from enkei... it is their right to chose their vendor, but it is also their responsibility to ensure that the vendor supplies good quality stuff. You can't just blame only the vendor.
1: Because all you need to do is send a legal notice saying that you will sue for defamation blah blah blah, and the victim, wanting to avoid litigation, takes it down. Trust me, I'm a lawyer.

2: Because the vendor gives you what you pay for. You cant expect a jumbo for the price of a turboprop.

      Personal Experience with pulsars -

Previous Bike - Pulsar 200 DTSi
      Ownership experience - Average product
Reason: Quality issues, parts failing, etc

Current Bike: 200NS (yes I still got another)
      Ownership experience -
Problems from day 1- starting from low quality disks to low quality bearings and low quality everywhere.
Kept using due to other financial responsibilities.

This will be My last product from Bajaj (No KTM as well in the future)

Even if they offer it for free i am not returning to them PERIOD.

I hope the consumers who suffer get justice!

Don't say that about Mahindra. You're making me scared to even buy the Mojo.

You rightly compared with MSIL on the tin can build quality, but the car doesn't just fall apart; but yeah; you have isolated cases where the rear AC in an Ertiga falls off!
Extremely sorry for the OT to everyone, but continuing on the same pitch; Hyundai deprived i20 Elite of 4 airbags (reduced from 6 to 2) and rear discs in order to add a touch infotainment system on the dashboard. Their excuse? We wanted to keep the costs in check.

Rationale of the above rant? It's what the customer wants! They want chrome, bling, touchscreens, rear camera, RVM indicators but NOT airbags/ABS/EBD etc.
Similarly, the bike buying junta wants the MAX bike in MIN price.

People go gaga over D390's 2L pricing and complain that R15 is over priced! Quality doesn't come cheap. I'm yet to see a KTM owner retain his bike for 2.5/3+ years, not that I'm against it. It is a VFM bike but I wouldn't expect it to not act up due to issues.
There were many who shifted from Honda CBR 250R to D390 and literally wrote all kinds of baseless stuff in the CBR threads. They presumably were getting more bike for the same amount of money. Where are they now? Some have silently reverted to CBRs and others are nowhere to be seen, hopefully enjoying their KTMs. Does CBR have the best quality? Nope, but slightly better and more reliable overall.

The bottom-line? Every one (read; manufacturers) is here to make profits. It is a business. They aren't doing any charity. Until and unless the public shuns bad products and demands better products in quality, manufacturers will keep being the same, producing lemons now and then!

And we need a Lemon law for protecting the buyer very soon.
      AC falls off? :O

      The poser crowd.

KTM's are buy use throw kind of bikes. *IF* I ever buy one, I will buy it knowing fully well that I'm buying a bike with shit build, on which things will go wrong, and I'll get abysmal resale. But the performance is unmatched. So buy it for the engine, and the tyres, nothing else.

The CBR crowd is a more mature crowd.

Hi, I am one such "Brainless idiot" as per you, who bought this bike. I understand that you are very angry about something, please feel free to pm me if you want to let out your frustation on a Pulsar buyer. Abuse or not, I dont mind. I will be more than happy if that calms you down.

But please refrain from making gross generalizations/abusive statements/hate speeches about people who have certain affinity towards a product for whatever reasons. Again, it is the buyer's choice. If somebody wants to buy a certain product knowing all the facts, it is his/her choice. Till the time that choice does not affect you, it would be highly appreciable if you do not make such blanket comments. Thanks.

            a) I didn't do any hating. So b) is not applicable to me. I'll let others post. And everyone, even the most duke loyalists will admit that if you want a niggle free bike, don't buy the KTMs. They are not a hassle free experience.

Then be happy. Who's stopping you from being happy? But

In the first few days of this thread I was like " Wow, the public has really improved. People are taking time to share useful and meaningful information and honest opinion on what they think has happened. " Now it's been replaced by "Meh, nothings changed. Like any hot topic it's been filled with troll masala, fanboy masala and hater masala." Now if after 1 week I'll come back to see what happened to the RS200 wheels, I am going to have to fish through probably 50 pages of gibberish.

and yes this is also a stupid gibberish post. So I'm no better either.

You misunderstood the context of my earlier post "haters gonna hate" - it was meant to say that all products have positives n negatives, but still people buy.
That hating thing was not directed towards anyone in particular. I apologise if you feel you are offended.
Dukes are not niggle free, I admit but mine has been 'so far'. So whatever I have stated is my personal opinion based on my experience.
There is no such thing called a 'niggle free bike'

Keep calm and bring meaningful discussions.

As far as the reports are concerned, it is already stated by bajaj that it was a side impact, so nothing can be done now and the couple who reported this issue are no where to be seen.

And do whatever everyone wants, people are going to forget all this alloy quality saga and move on to ride their steed.

                            Cheers,
