  • ^ Thanks guys. All I was saying was:-> Riding position is now like P200, feet backwards & upwards. It's great! Max Torque is one NM less, but it seems spread out, like in RTR, as it appears from figures.

Biggest thing, is the removal of vibrations. Lots of people complained about this.

Overall, if everything by Bike India is correct, I'm satisfied with the update. Bajaj finally has a challenger for RTR 180 & FZ16, it's current challengers.

      • What?? According to the review @ 125kmph speedo read the true speed is 115 kmph??? this is as good as RTR or the R15 speedo.. Man, why are they playing the error game now?? The pulsar had most accurate digi speedo in the market, now this error creates artificial sense of high speed...
For a comparo, My ug3 was showing 116kmph on dash when it registered 113kmph on the speed gun. The error was hardly 3-4 kmph. It has increased to 10 kmph now at same speeds..
Review also says that the new ones cross 130kmph on speedo easily at slight downslopes, the ug3 hits the rev limiter in 5th @ 128kmph speedo read.
        Fun Starts at Redline!!!

Well , I have never found bike india trust worthy when it comes to figures.

But then with the rearset footpegs, the P180 UGIV would now accomodate the long legs taller guys.

I'll assume that you have made the above comment in jest.. a DC lighting set up is a must these days.

The Bajaj P220, XCD125/135, Platina 125 (if I am not mistaken), Yamaha FZ16, R15 and Hero Honda Karizma already runs on DC Lighting. The new P150/180 UGIV gets it as well.

The DC lighting on the Bajaj models is a clever unit.. it switches off the lights after a few seconds if the engine isn't running (to save the battery from accidental drain out)

Oh,I was unaware of DC electricals on so many bikes........then the techno goes down well.I focussed on DC electricals that we may usually use in electronic equipments in our day to day life...........like TV,Refrigrator,Inverter,computer.........AC is safe for them

@svjhonda.........the SBKs have something called alternating dynamo DC electricals.......I cannot remember it but I am sure it was a Ducati1098 manual and it mentioned that the output of electricals were AC like.

Damn : it seems the error has gone up. Does it have to do with bigger tyres / changed circumference or something? Coz the new Pulsars have a different kind of sensor right

I guess what you mean exists on our bikes as well. Beyond a certain rpm, when the alternator can generate enough current, the electricals are powered by that. But when you slow down and rpm drops, it gradually steps down to a point where the battery takes over..... I dont know of any bike that has everything on battery only.

A line in the review caught my attention, something like: 'if you think the bike looks similar to the 200 now, wait till you see the 09 Pulsar 200'.

Maybe the 200's got the 220's quarter fairing and rear disk brake......
                You get the point?? :D

One of my friends who owns a P200 remarked to me that if the P200 was to be given a new look then it better look like the classic Pulsar with round headlamps. Then it can be the MT-01 while the P220 can play around being the R1. I found myself agreeing since the P200 has always had the streetfighter image and what could be better than brute looks to match its brute power?

                  P.S.: Dont mind the analogy.

Good Idea. Well, not necessarily round shape. It can be in any other NEW shape too. like FZ has that Pentagon shape...

and well, that tyre hugger we can remove ourselves. That will make P200 the streetie we want it to be ...

I just got a Brilliant Idea - The Round Headlight Section should be attached to the Fuel Tank directly, from both sides, left & right. But absolutely NOT like Karizma or P220, it should be attached NOT via Fairing, but via Metal Frames/ plates. Nonetheless, Headlight should be free from handlebar movement just like 220 or ZMA. ... Imagine it clearly & tell me guys. It will give a Solid Street Look!!

                        • if the increase in price is around 3000.....thenthe price @ bangalore should be 69500+3000=72500 approx

why wouldnt one got for p200 paying 6000 more.....

                          Comment

                          • Deep : coz by paying 6000 all you get is 20cc more. Is it worth it? There aint much of a difference in overall performance as well (between the new 180 and old 200). plus dont forget that the 180 gets more goodies like wider forks and clip ons!

Yesterday I got a chance to take the new 150 out for a spin.My friend who owns a P150UG3 was also there. We rode side and side and I found that my speedo is showing approximately 5-6km/hr more than the older one for similar speeds.Don't know whether its a general phenomenon or a one off case.

                              • ^ So, what Bike India said is true! That means Bajaj is playing around with the speedometer now. Waise, i dont see a harm in it as all bikes today sport a good speedo error. And that is why 'SOME' R15's go to 145km/h!
