If you look at the engine carefully, you can see its the exact same of Fazer 250 sold abroad. Even the oil cooler lines and clutch cover design matches it. It produces 21hp and 20.5nm torque from a single cylinder 250cc mill. I expect Yamaha India to retune it to around 25hp and name it FZ25

Looks more like FZ20 or FZ2 maybe. I can clearly see air cooled engine (aka oil cooler). I think Yamaha finally understood a need of a 200CC naked specially after the Duke-RTR-NS 200.

What a sharp vision you have. I am impressed but I feel Yamaha may retune it to extract 1-2bhp max.

For some reason this bike looks an awful lot like the Suzuki Inazuma 250, doesn't it?
Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

            Rides : Honda CB Twister(Feb 2011 - Present) | TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS(Sept 2012 - May 2016) | Honda CBR250R C-ABS Repsol(March 2017 - Present)

This is not Mt 03 for Sure. Everything is different. Side scoops, headlamp, cheap lever and RVMs, engine casing, silencer, swing arm, rear LED tail, tyre hugger. Damn, no radiator too... Definitely a big NO!

Video: Yamaha MT-15 aka M-Slaz Testing Begins in India, Launch Soon | Latest Car News & Live Updates at OnCars.in

Talking of mechanicals, the Yamaha MT-15 draws its power from a 149cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission, generating 16 bhp of power and 14 Nm of torque. The braking is done with the help of disc brakes at both ends, which can further come linked to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) at least as an option. The rear end resembles that of its faired sibling - R15 V2.0 and looks stunning with the inclusion of split step up seats.

Yes, I agree. instead of this awful bike, Yamaha should have brought a bike in the lines of Retro looking Kawasaki W650 (not a 650 engine, but design wise) or like the Triumph Bonneville with a 250 cc engine.

Haha! You stole my words on that. Seems like Bunny Punia is the person who is recording it.

Also this ain't the M-Slaz. Idk why other websites are posting such non sense without even researching about these pictures. As someone said this may well the FZ2 or Fazer.

However, that turned out to be just a plain rumour and no such bike made its entry to our shores. Recently, two units of a Yamaha motorcycle have been spied doing test runs in Delhi NCR which confirms that the company is all set to surprise its buyers once again. The motorcycle in question looks like the Yamaha MT-15 and is basically the naked version of the company’s popular 150cc sportsbike - Yamaha R15.
Coming to the design, the Yamaha MT-15 is seen with a sharp and aggressive headlamp and is likely to come with LEDs for good illumination at nights. The couple of units spied ditched the inverted forks up front and have been seen with the conventional units. The front fender looks somewhat resembling that of the Yamaha FZ. The fuel tank design is impressive and is something different from the regular. In addition, the sporty tank scoops enhance the visuals and make the bike come across as a really good looking streetfighter.

Talking of mechanicals, the Yamaha MT-15 draws its power from a 149cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission, generating 16 bhp of power and 14 Nm of torque. The Yamaha MT-15 is expected to be priced close to INR 1.10 lakh in the Indian two-wheeler market. The naked streetfighter will challenge the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 and KTM 200 Duke in terms of pricing. The bike is expected to be launched in the initial months of 2017.

This is 100% a 250cc engine as you can clearly see it is oil-cooled not liquid cooled and its engine is looking very similar to Yamaha fazer 250 sold in brazil. Moreover Yamaha will not cannibalize its own product i.e. R15.
