Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Hornet abs model is priced at 1.10 lakhs on road, i think xtreme Will be priced at approx 1.05 to 1.12 lakhs on road, still a good buy. Customers who didn't want practicality will go for rtr 200, duke 200. Others who want practicality will have to go for xtreme, fz 250 (pillion comfort)Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Post

Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Still its just a rebored 150cc engine which is air-cooled only. As per me price should be 85k ex-showroom max....Originally posted by #bpk View PostHornet abs model is priced at 1.10 lakhs on road, i think xtreme Will be priced at approx 1.05 to 1.12 lakhs on road, still a good buy. Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Hornet is not a rebore of Unicorn. Both are different family of engines. CBF125 Stunner/Shine and CBF150 Unicorn engines are very similar. CB160F engine is a rebored version of a 150cc that was used in NXR Bros, IIRC. Simply reboring an engine will not yield good results always as bore/stroke ratio will change. Am curious to see whether this 200cc suffers from excessive heat or "overheating". Lets see what owners have to report here.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHornet is also a rebored 160cc unicorn, its priced very high, so xtreme will be a mega hit

Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Yes xtreme 200 will heat more than other air cooled engines, since it has similar compression ratio of 10:01 as hornet 160rOriginally posted by ashwanth.r View PostHornet is not a rebore of Unicorn. Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Though oil cooling is not as good as liquid cooling am sure Hero engineers must have tested this engine extensively. Fingers crossed.Originally posted by #bpk View PostYes xtreme 200 will heat more than other air cooled engines, since it has similar compression ratio of 10:01 as hornet 160r
High compression ratio = better efficiency + more power. Am not against it. Earlier motorcycle engines ran on a compression ratio of 7.8:1. Now almost everyone is near 10:1.Last edited by ashwanth.r; 06-29-2018, 12:36 AM.

Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Out of aircooled motorcycle only xtreme and hornet , xblade, uni 160 have high compression ratio , xtremes and hornets compression ratio is closed to liquid cooled cbr 250r. Rtr 160 4v has oil cooling for better heat dissipation. The reason for cbrs engine smoothness is due to relatively low compression ratio + liquid cooling. More compression rat4= more stressed engine= more damage in future.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostThough oil cooling is not as good as liquid cooling am sure Hero engineers must have tested this engine extensively. Re: Hero Xtreme 200R: A Hero's arrival
Rtr 200 compression ratio = 9.7 with oil cooling= smoohest engine in class. Hornet 160r compression ratio = 10:01 without any cooling mechanism= compression loss problems, engine harshness, various engine related issues.Originally posted by #bpk View PostOut of aircooled motorcycle only xtreme and hornet , xblade, uni 160 have high compression ratio , xtremes and hornets compression ratio is closed to liquid cooled cbr 250r. Also fzs version 2 compression ratio= 9.5, smoothest engine in 150cc classOriginally posted by #bpk View PostRtr 200 compression ratio = 9.7 with oil cooling= smoohest engine in class. Funny that you say this.
Because Hero high end bikes have a reputation of impeccable reliability. The best tourers in this country have been the Zma and the ZMR.
