  • i was searching about the racing kit for FZ and found sumthing interesting changes that will come after installing the racing kit. (I dont know how much of this is true, but this came from various discussion going in different forums)

first one is the power output. Sum guy was saying that the power will increase by 3-4 bhp after installing full exhaust, racing ECU. and also there are sum changes in the crank-shaft angle and valves which increases the power. so i think except for piston everything is changed.

second one is the rpm at different gear are different for the stock ECU.but with the race ECU rpm will get increased, which need to be calibrated with bike. suppose for fourth gear rpm set is 7k and for 5th gear 8k, the race ECU will increase it to 9k for all the gears.

third one is the stability braking capabilities of the bike will increase that need not to be explained coz of the larger discs and bla bla..

and lastly the cost of of the whole kit for the FZ will be sumwhere around 60k. thats really costly..

the kitted Fz is almost as quick at R15 to 100.. thats a little hard to digest :P

                • ^ thats because the Sriperumbudur race track doesnt have a straight long enough to max out most Indian bikes

                  • But dude the r15 showed topspeed somwhere around 130km/hr on the speedo. Which means atleast 122km/hr of true speed. That means Fz must have have shown some indicated figure.

                    • we were hitting around 138 on the R15 and 121-122 on the FZ on the back straight. Ofcourse, both the bikes could have gone more given the road. Read more in the August issue of Bike India

                            huh!!!!!!!!!!
i think you are confusing 0-100 with 0-110

well, I meant "The kitted Fz is almost as quick at stock R15 to 100"

@Bunny: is the free flow exhaust of Fz loud? i mean, loud enough to attract cops attention!

Thats still slow to beat the P220 with the kitted R15, almost.
FYI, the R15 weighs 25kilos lesser than the p220 and slower. So guess the bhp!
So I'm wondering, how is Yamaha proclaiming that the kit makes 30% more power. The figures are way slower than my bike and I aint claiming any 30% or more.
                                My R15 is now doing,
                                0-60 - 3.4secs
                                0-100 - 9.3secs
                                Top-speed in 700mtrs - 141kph.
All this with a hand crafted engine and parts and no fancy stuff. All bone stock gearing and ECU even.
68k for this kit is insane! I did my works for less than half of what this can cost and can still give the kitted R15 a run for cover!
