Actually I dont know where this HID thingy cropped up from... I guess I will go with a local HID (there is a Indian brand available here with 2 years warranty for 4grands or so) so I guess I will have to hunt for options now... I forgot the name..Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@satyenpoojary: I enquired about the Daytona HID kit at my local SVC where they service R1&MT01. They say it will supposedly cost Rs.18000!
Will you consider a Chinese/aftermarket one? I'm more or less giving up the idea since I don't wanna burn up the reflector compartment.
Yeah but did you figure out what that thingy was? that cable sure does look like the HID thingy..Originally posted by digislayer View PostCheck my previous post here, I posted a picture of the HID which was present on the FZ. It looks like a chinese one only, my guess is that the HID's presence in the race kit is just a rumour. They had 2 bikes, one FZ16 and one R15. The R15 didn't have any HIDs at all, the FZ only had a HID. And yes, the top kit costs 55k Rs, and individual parts are choosable.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

^^The name of the Indian brand is Raylex or Raynox or something!
And no, I couldn't figure it out yet..it sure does look like a ballast. But I remember seeing the HID on only the FZ16, will reconfirm about the R15's headlamp and tell you :PSunny.

25 bhp?
sounds extremely improbable IMHO. I had expected a power increase of 1-2 bhp, but this is ridiculous!
And I doubt whether that exhaust will comply with our pollution laws

Guys, Bike India tested these Racing Kits. They might have some better info on whether it is 25 bhp or less ...
I have heard of exhausts boosting power by 20-25% (Read: Ninja 250+ 2Brothers Exhaust). Maybe, the ECU and the new throaty air box (accd. to Bike India) might make it quite good, if not 25 bhp?

An ECU does fuel management and controls ignition. You can run an ECU with a carb and the fuel control will be taken over by the carb. However its not even half simple as it sounds coz its a task to set it up.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostHe he

I have already tested a similar hybrid set-up. Working on something else now.sigpic

Ah! Ok...Originally posted by Joel View PostAn ECU does fuel management and controls ignition. You can run an ECU with a carb and the fuel control will be taken over by the carb. However its not even half simple as it sounds coz its a task to set it up.
I have already tested a similar hybrid set-up. Working on something else now.
So the ECU controls something or controls somehow the amount of fuel that goes to the Carb.... and also continues to controls on the ignition...
I have some question as to why would anybody want to do that?
The only merit I can think off is where the ECU has preset configs... something like a mode switcher...
Does the FZ need something like this?Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Wrong info , the two bros exhaust on Ninja 250 doesnt increase power by 20-25 % . see the Dyno chart i have added . even the full system that Costs 750$[ ,only increases Peak power by 4 bhp as claimed by them .Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostGuys, Bike India tested these Racing Kits. Yamaha claiming 50 % increase is madness
