I think you're referring to Burt Munroe.. & he modded a bike by name 'INDIAN' for this feat..
No offence meant, but its a very inspirational story.. I even have the CD of a movie made on his story..
Its really a touching tale man..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I have read about Burt even before that movie came out. YOu just got the whole equation wrong mate.

            • When I stripped my R15 engine, I was shocked to see that the engine has already been pushed. The Stock R15 engine is already the largest big-bore from that T135 platform.
The piston deck height was already maxed, with hardly little room left.
Head design and ports are already pretty good, piston is super light, all components are super light and the engine is a tight package.
Even the stock exhaust is damn good. Has a large primary pipe and tuned length is spot on for the stock peak power. Throttle body is large enough and everything else complements.
So when I decided to give my engine a serious kick, I had to do a few radical things and thats what i did. Else I would have ended up like the Yamaha kitted bikes with some 10-15% gains..

              • I saw one of the auto shows on Sunday and they did the test drive of the machine. As per them the power has been increased by 30% over the stock one which I think will be ~~ 21/22 bhp

                  Sorry!
I didn't take the word NAKED too seriously here.. Burt had also removed some clothing in order to set that record.. So I thought he was the man you were referring to..
Anyways, do let us know who the actual guy was..

                    • ^I've not worked on the FZ yet. However I have seen the internals and there is decent scope for improvement. Yes, it can be pushed.

I had always guessed the Yamaha R15 to be based on the Step Thru Spark T135 engine from Phillippines and the chassis/engine from the Indonesian Vixion.

                          Thanks for the info.

I searched the internet about this ... according to the information ... these kits or not legal in streets ... these are strictly for race tracks ... we have to sign up papers before we get these kits ... and the bikes should be strictly used only in tracks ... or else u will be charged for breaking the law ... more over the FZ race kit is expected to cost 20,000 and R15 is expected to cost 30k to 50k ...These Kits are useful only To Racing ppl :-( thats really sad :-(
