250-270 days is the gestation of human babies , are they actually treating it as a "baby" ninja ?Originally posted by Hyperion View PostJust to add more perspective, I had gone to the Pune PBK on 23rd Oct, they told me if I had booked then that, I would be the 37th

The guy there told me that it will require to be lubed once every 500 Km. Since the service station is away from my place, I shall try and do it myself.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@ashutosh_x: Congrats on the bike! Do check if the chain needs to be lubed due to riding in the rain!
He was saying that since I do not have the stand to make the bike stand perpendicular to the ground, I wont be able to move the wheel to oil the chain. Any one has got any tips on how to do it in that case? I would hate to visit the service station again and again for it as its too far from me.

no offense meant for Ninja 250R
Its really nice to see Ninja 250r rolling in Indian market after a long wait.dont u think its damn expensive?? i'll back up to my raised ques for sure. a R15 with race kits installed will cost max upto 1.75 laks.and no doubt it will match up to the performance delivered by Ninja 250R.ok leave R15 with race kits aside.if Yamaha launches a 200cc engine, it will cost around 2laks and it can surely go past Ninja 250R in terms of performance, speed , everything u can think of. so where did Bajaj did justice to Indian customers with its high priced Ninja??i personally feel its a perfect wastage of funds, exception being the sons of rich dads who never realise the value of funds and neither they will do it in their life...

Get a bike paddock stand for your Ninja. You are in Pune, so getting one should not be so difficult. No idea about the pricing though.Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostAny one has got any tips on how to do it in that case? I thought we were done with all the pricing talk. And from your post, it is obvious that you don't have a clue on what you are talking about, so any further discussion on your post is a utter waste of time.Originally posted by pravu View PostIts really nice to see Ninja 250r rolling in Indian market after a long wait.dont u think its damn expensive?? i'll back up to my raised ques for sure. a R15 with race kits installed will cost max upto 1.75 laks.and no doubt it will match up to the performance delivered by Ninja 250R.ok leave R15 with race kits aside.if Yamaha launches a 200cc engine, it will cost around 2laks and it can surely go past Ninja 250R in terms of performance, speed , everything u can think of. so where did Bajaj did justice to Indian customers with its high priced Ninja??i personally feel its a perfect wastage of funds, exception being the sons of rich dads who never realise the value of funds and neither they will do it in their life...

The R15 manual also states lubing the chain once in every 500 kms.or after a ride in the rain. I had bought the paddock stand racing accessory from Yamaha, but later I opted for the mainstand. I think the Ninja's paddock stand is available at Rs.5000, but you would need swingarm spools as well to mount it.Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostThe guy there told me that it will require to be lubed once every 500 Km. You can try borrowing the paddock stand accessory if any R15 owner has it&check if you can prop up the bike with it-very simple, just align both the rubber bushes exactly under the swingarm on both sides&push downwards, it will lift the bike. Then you can continue with the lubing.
Btw, what kind of chain lube have they prescribed for the bike?Last edited by Sarvajit; 11-11-2009, 12:47 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@pravu - mate you need to check out the ninja in flesh before stating such things.
The R15 will not catch up with the ninja any which ways. And it will be left behind in terms of handling, braking and stability.
Like there is no substitute for cc.
Also the ninja is priced reasonably well for the global pricing it has, if you compare.
Its just about whether you are ready to pay close to 3 lakhs for a 250cc motorcycle of this performance. A lot of us are.
My offerings to the gods of speed -
- KTM Duke 200
- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

^^Absolutely...as an R15 owner I too had my reservations about ninja...but seeing it 2 days back at the probiking in vashi laid to rest all the doubts...
The finish, the quality ,everything does look top notch as mentioned in the review
my only issue was in terms of visual appeal regarding the side farings.
whereas the r15 has distinct panels making it look sharp like its older brother the Ninja side faring looks one complete mass even though it is made up of joints of 3-4 panels thus making it look a bit fat on the sides
just my opinion though
ps:Mumbai has already 45 Ninja bookings as told by probiking guys and they are stopping for sometime after 50sigpic

lol, i bunked off cuz my fundas were clear.i said r15 wid race kits will match performance wid ninja rather than a stock r15.be vigilant while reading posts.and dont compare the global pricing trends of Ninja that wid India cuz Ninja 250R comes under the learning segment bikes in other countries and to ur surprise the maximum customers of it are females.India is still a economy oriented country and no doubt Ninja-250R will be a major flop in coming months.i know u hardcore fans wont able to digest the facts for sure.

Flop???
Go and check the booking for Ninja buddy. It has even exceeded BAL expectations. There is no use of cribbing if you cant get a Ninja, even I can't get one and like R15 a lot but these two bikes are class apart, I dont think there is any point replying to your silly posts anymore. Grow up dude
