Moreover, by that time you will have concluded your travel and can enjoy the pleasure of booking the bike on your own and then the feeling of being handed over the key when you go to pick it up

          • Here are a bunch of pictures from today. I took my Megazoom along so shooting interior details from across the street was a breeze. From what I saw, I think it will still take at least 2-3 weeks more for the showroom to finish. Though they have covered a lot of ground since last week, there is still a lot of work remaining, including doing up the flooring, fixing lights, cleaning up and cementing the front area. not to mention getting the machinery in place.

This is how the overall showroom looks across the street now:

A closeup - you can see the ceiling lights installed:

From the right side - as you can see, a lot of work needs to be done yet:

A closeup of the right side:

Zoom into the front portion - notice the Pulsar parts displayed on the panel which is yet to be mounted on the wall:

Notice the Deco brick stack which is used as a design element inside probiking showrooms found across the country:

Front portion (under heap of sand) needs to be built and also the basement parking (or service bay?) requires completion.

End of December as quoted by Khivraj does not seem very unlikely -maybe the showroom will open in the last week of next month. Besides the construction, I guess they will also have to hire people as well! Though Bajaj has missed their November end target by a long shot, I am not annoyed since the timing works well for me personally. But I will be pissed off if they say that the waiting period for the Ninja 250R is '4-5' months after opening the showroom...

Will post an update next weekend again!

Thanks for pointing that out - I changed the term to 'deco brick stacks'!

Yeah, I would like to know the front fairings cost as well!

@BANDHAV: Yesterday there was a black Ninja parked outside the restaurant we went for dinner. Showed the bike to my Mom&fiancee, who were not at all impressed. My sis feels that they may change their opinion on seeing the green.

                        • Got back from the Chennai Probiking showroom. Looks like there are 10 mean machines blocking my way to biking nirvana Planning to order a tank pad, some decals, jacket and a helmet from UK or US. Can anyone please tell me whether I need to PAY some cash to the customs if it gets delivered by mail.

Well if you are getting stuff from US/UK then make sure that you use the shipping that comes with tracking. For example, the USPS Priority Mail. Using their cheapest service (USPS First Class Mail) is as good as guaranteeing that your stuff will NEVER arrive.

As for customs, you do have to pay them, though indirectly.
The post guys will leave a paper slip at your place which will inform you of the amount you need to go pay at the specified post office to claim your stuff from there. And these charges are not cheap either, I got charged around 300 bucks for a $48 thing.

In cases where they decide not to charge you duty (for instance, if you persuade the US guys to declare it at a low value) then the postman will bring the stuff to your place directly.
                            200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Thanks for the information mate. I will ask them to write it off as a gift. Will keep you guys posted about the rates. Cheers.

                              • Yesterday I went to Khivraj Motors for my bike's servicing and there the Manager gave some information about the baby Ninja (Not sure how much of it is true). He said that Bajaj will be handling the Indiranagr PBK showroom. The Sales part will also be taken care of by Bajaj. But Khivraj will take part in the servicing department (The most disappointing part)...

Also 2 baby Ninjas (1 Black and 1 GREEN) has already arrived in Bangalore for display and they are waiting for the Indiranagar showroom to get ready.
