LOL, another four months Bajaj makes its premium customers wait close to 6 months for delivery, that is astounding...

But never the less, I dont think it should take another 4 months, or maybe they are just playing safe giving an estimate that is sure to be not exceeded.

Strange that number 17 on the booking list has received a bike whilst 18 & 19 remain undelivered. Most likely due to a cancellation.
Promised 1st week Dec, then Mid Dec now NO idea. The most frustrating part is no news or statements made only to make you dissappear for a period of time. Doea anyone have contact details for Head of Bike Sales / Marketing.

        • Folks,

As far as I know, there is no confirmed news on the first lot and next lot stuff. All that PBK guys can do is give out an update based on the 'news' that they come to hear of. Please don't come to conclusions on delays or quicker deliveries. Yes, they did tell me 135 day waiting period and all that, but that is for them to be on the safer side. When I purchased both my 220 as well as my Ninja, I had them delivered in less than the estimated waiting time.

I know Bajaj hasn't been top notch with quality, but they are a smart company. Their recent strategies have pushed up sales to a very high extent. I'm convinced they won't be foolish enough to lose a market with customers wanting to buy their premium bikes. They will have better answers for all of you who are waiting, just be patient.

If you have paid up, be patient to get your bike some time soon. Cancelling will only make you lose 4k. If you are keen on purchasing this bike, I'm sure it wouldn't make any difference even if you had to wait. Don't worry, this is a premium bike and even if you did purchase it after a year, your bike will still be a rare sight on the roads!

Can anyone confirm if any bikes have been delivered in Pune recently. Was promised update today from Probiking but it is just going from 1 person to the next. Yesterday's update was 1st bike next week and 2nd by month end. That seems to have changed by today. I await a call back with confirmation.
Will update you tomorow..am going there to get the chain oiled. Lady luck really shines on me. First ....my bike lies in the showroon for two weeks before I can collect it...the dealer thought I was mad. Then I do 500 kms in two days , driving to Thane and back and then the bike is at home for another two weeks because I an travelling. Hopefully will get the servicing done around Christmas.

Tenhut & Vishwas, at how many kilometers did you open the bike up. Did u guys wait till 1400 kms or can we do that earlier.

PM me for Neeraj Sharma"s contact number. He is the guy who handles the western region and a nice guy. I too contacted him because of the delays in getting my bike.

I never crossed 4k in first 800 km. Even after that, I mostly adhere to 6k limit since I have yet not crossed 1600 km.

Its high time Bajaj beefs up the process of importing, assembling and distributing the bikes that are booked by the customers. If it continues to delay like this giving 100+ day time frame for deliveries, it is going to heighten the frustation amongst the customers.

do you know the waiting period for an Activa? a Dio or a ZMR??
these are domestic manufacturers struggling to provide customers with on-spot deliveries.
In case of a Ninja a CKD bike being shipped all the way from thailand I am sure the time lag is justified (given the overwhelming demand).
despite that if i remember right did'nt you actually get your bike way before the commitment date?

I think you wouldnt disagree that I would be selfish if I just looked at when I got my bike. Hence, in view of that, my comments were generic and applied to customers in general. Whether or not the time lag is justified, what I said is, it is frustrating for those who are eager and I stand by my word.

I agree with you on this one. Its an almost similar story with other companies. Thanks to bajaj for bringing ninja to india. Our wait will be definately worth it.

Unless u r a member of the clergy it is just downright impossible to adhere to 4k till first servicing and 6K after first servicing.

That said, I never redlined my bike before 1000 Kms.
I threw the manual instructions out the window and followed the heat tempering break in method untill i went in for first oil change at 1K kms.

                            1. Rev it only when the engine is warm.
                            2. Rev it only occasionally upto 11K then engine brake back to 4K through a series of downshifts. Now ride normally at around 4K for a while (5 mins or so )
                            3. Rev it back again to 10K...engine brake back to 5K.Ride at 4K for about 5 mins again.
                            4. Stop for 10 mins..let the engine cool down.
                            5. Ride normally at 4K after engine cool down for about 10 mins to get the engine warm again and then rev to 9-10K and engine brake back to 4 K.
                            6. Rinse and repeat

I used to do this for about an hour or so every alternate day.No hardcore engine braking either...was done with lotsa love. Never did it for more than an hour. I kept the revs below 4 K if I was not gonna do the above steps in succession.

Doing the above does not mean thrashing the bike. It actually did my bike pretty good.

                            Hate much ?
After having gotten the delivery before the time frame committed to you you still are flying full flags high against Bajaj.
Ninjas all over the world are consumed way faster than Kawasaki can produce them; not just in India. Try getting a Ninja 250R in the US. You wont find a dealer who commits u a delivery date !

Bajaj is busy getting in the KTMs and yet Ninja isnt reeling under the after effects of that. Yamaha could never launch the 2009 R1 in India due to licensing issues from the Government of India. They have shelved launching 2009 and are launching the 2010 model directly. Importing bikes through overseas routes aint so simple mate.

I dont understand the knee jerk reaction that you resort to everytime someone mentions bajaj.
everytime some uninitiated guy fires a paintball at bajaj you join in the party.
Opening a pro biking showroom in Banglore aeons after Ninjas launch was/is a migthy screw up on Bajajs part. Heads have rolled for this fcuk up. But give credit where its due.

Just joined Xbhp... and spend all night yesterday going through page 1 - 266 of this thread.

Like most of you my wait for the Ninja has started to give me Sleepless Nights and by the looking at the delivery time... it seems I wont be getting much sleep for the next few months.

I am no. 6 on the Bangalore waitlist.

                              • Speaking for myself, the opening of the new showroom was perfect for me in all aspects, be it financially, or the sheering timing which fell on the rare day when I was not travelling out of Bangalore on work.

Now if the bike is delivered within December, then it will be a 11/10 experience!
