  • U forgot the poser boys!
Poser herd would surely buy this ZMR irrespective of its touring/racing/riding capabilities.
    U know why?
Because now there's one more 'Fully Faired' bike in their list to choose out from..

Afterall looks does matters and posing does matters even more!!
    !

Yesterday I heard a poserboy yelling
"hell yea! This R15 has better fairing, Iam gonna book it!!"

I corrected "Dude! Its the new hero honda Karizma Fi."

"Watewer! Still I am gonna book it! " he yelled again!!!
Then he asked me "what is FI meant for?"
A minute later he was yelling again " I got it! i got it! FASTEST INDIAN!!! Vroom! Vroom!"

And there I was standing with "hey Bhagwan!! mujhe utha le" type look...

    • It's not like "HERO HONDA" is being used with the ZMR so it guarentees sales in huge numbers...
ZMA was and is a premium product, with quality ecoing from everypart, amazing engine, gearbox, paint quality etc...

and not to forget the relaxed cruising ability at 90-110kmph for hours without stopping to stretch ur legs or arms....

that makes the bike popular, and sales charts burning...

the whole point is here of performance of the new ZMR,and even if it betters the old bike by some milisecs, and even it loses out with the compitition in figures(RTR180,P220DTS-I) it'll still rule the hearts of it's loyal customers,HERO HONDA fans, and the ones who want to cruise down the highway day after day.....

ZMR will rule the touring thing...
      anyday....

      • ^^Surprisingly the new ZMR has become a POSER bike! The new cheaper P220 is a real premium for Posers, 'coz its "The fastest Indian Poser"!.. why blame ZMR with higher price?? A smart poser will spend 7k more and buy a R15.. looks does matter you know!!

you write anything here which explains the practicality and options list of other bike and a HERO HONDA,ZMA,ZMR fan will knock you down and thr will be war of words here(you can see pages brimming with this stuffs)

          that's why i'm not comparing the VFM,performance,of the compititors(220,RTR180,R15).....

let the bike come, lets see it in flesh, lets ride it and then we'll punch our fingers on keyboards...

          till then...

          PEACE.....

I think it goes both ways. If you don't have the skills or place to ride a bike at its full potential, the specifications on paper comes to the rescue. If one can't beat the other in drag, at least one can have the bragging rights and say "my bike is faster" by showing them the specifications . Or make the bike look mean to intimidate .

On a serious note, I think most posers do all those mods because they cannot afford expensive bikes at the first place. And ZMR might just be beyond the budget of most posers.

              • Why is it almost always that an upgrade is considered worth when it is quicker and faster than the competition or atleast show similar fast times on "paper"???

-- Isn't it worth enough when one of the most refined engines has become more refined to ride?

-- Isn't it worth enough that the ZMR will arguably be better than ZMA and any other bike in India to sustain 100+ speeds for longer durations without breaking a sweat, and that too in almost any riding conditions?

-- Isn't it worth enough that it probably has become more reliable?

-- Isn't it worth enough that it has arguably got the best FI systems among Indian bikes?

But alas, since it might take little wee bit longer to reach 100 than the competition, suddenly it's not a worthy upgrade for some!! Heck, what the FI is there for? this is the question those "speed freaks" will put!!! sad, but true!

Poser ZMR? Don't blame HH/ZMR for what they don't intend to popularize this bike as!... i have seen Hayabusa's , the R1's, the Blades, the porches and BMWs in the hands of many who might not even know where these companies originate from!!

                  • Valid points from Kaynmantis and Satellite kid. Let's just END the POSER thing here. Let's talk ZMR.

What about the SVC guys regarding the new Fuel Injection? I do hope, they're trained to handle it. I think I never heard a glamour Fi owner complaining about this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Only one disadvantage of FI is, it cannot be handled by any roadside mechanic, in case of an emergency
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

hehehehe Why don't you leave BAL and join HH

Just mentioned the only disadvantage (may be it's a very small one)

                          I agree!

-- Isn't it worth enough when one of the most refined engines has become more refined to ride?

                          Yes, refinement counts too!

-- Isn't it worth enough that the ZMR will arguably be better than ZMA and any other bike in India to sustain 100+ speeds for longer durations without breaking a sweat, and that too in almost any riding conditions?

                          Too early to say.

-- Isn't it worth enough that it probably has become more reliable?

Now, how does adding a FI system + digital meters + DC CDI make a bike more reliable? If for some reason the battery goes for the toss, will this bike even run? I ask because, this bike's FI runs on battery. Even its CDI runs on battery. (First in India)

-- Isn't it worth enough that it has arguably got the best FI systems among Indian bikes?

How can you say that? Based on the performance numbers given before, it is nothing special. It does the same job as any other FI sys in the country. Anything special with this FI sys? Any reviews?

But alas, since it might take little wee bit longer to reach 100 than the competition, suddenly it's not a worthy upgrade for some!! Heck, what the FI is there for? this is the question those "speed freaks" will put!!! sad, but true!

People will always ask for the benefit of any new technology. Weren't people saying that DTSi is useless? So there! The benefit of this FI sys is greater refinement and fuel efficiency, I guess. No performance gains as such. Not that it is a bad thing, but different people have different priorities. Just as simple as that!

Poser ZMR? Don't blame HH/ZMR for what they don't intend to popularize this bike as!... i have seen Hayabusa's , the R1's, the Blades, the porches and BMWs in the hands of many who might not even know where these companies originate from!!

Of course you are correct here!
I am not contesting your views. Just want your opinion on this!

                            • The spec sheet mentioned DC CDI only! So, I guess its separate from the ECU.
