  • ISG2G-Chikmanglur,see a Blue R1 ride in while waiting for the evening ride, giggled like a 5 yr old in amusement.Later that night during the intro part heard about your inspirational story and first thing i do on the net is to dig into this thread.

This is the kind of life everyone should live...realizing their dreams.Amazing to know that there are people like you around who compromise so much at such an early stage in life to achieve something that's apart from the regular(study, work, buy a flat, marry, buy another flat etc etc...) herd mentality. This is so refreshing.

I am sure a lot of us have such dreams..guess the conviction part is what is lacking.Ajay ji,You need to pat yourself on the shoulders.Truly commendable and ride safe.Looking forward to ride with you someday

        • The R1 turns 3

It would be absolutely impossible to put down everything I have felt since the R1 has been in life since the past 3 years and what a remarkable journey it has been - lots of ups and downs making it unforgetable

3 years - so many roads conquered and so many more to go !!!

Happy Birthday Special - we shall always be together

PS- Unable to add images, hence a link to some latest pics of 'The Special'

Thank you everyone for being a part of this journey

                  • hello dude ..
It's late but huge congos on acquiring ur dream machine R1 :-)
Pls clarify my followng doubt:Can Sbk's with highcompression ratios i.e 12.3:1(cbr 1000rr) ,r1(12.7:1)or gixxers, hayabusas can run safely without engineknocking /pinging on normal good quality 91RON fuel or speedor xtrapremium of 91ron rating?!?
What petrol do u use wen u go on touring where u might not be able to find petrol like speed97?&Does your R1 come with a knock sensor?
And last can a guy of height 5'7 be able to ride a R1 nd manage it in traffic, atleast by one legging or trimming excess foam n seat?

Hi, I have heard that little older R1 s have lot of mechanical issues.. it seems every now and then something or the other goes bad.. now I asked this question to one of the superbike mechanic in Bangalore that if I have to go for a used superbike, which one would be better. He advised me not to go for R1 as he recieves lot of complaints from R1 owners every now and then. He suggested me to go for Honda Fireblade instead as it does not give snu mechanical trouble even if its little older bike. Now I would like to know from R1 owners about its maintenence issues if any, or if this bike becomes little old does it give any mechanical problems. An honest review would be very helpful to me, as this ll help me in planning which bike I should invest in if I have to pick up a used one. I personally like R1 the most.
