Mumbai, 16 OTR for tuono, 16.5 OTR for RSV-4. Both aprc models, only aprc ones available here.
The dealer is a friend of mine, I have been to his place, checked out the bikes, etc. Unless he has dropped prices by 6 lacs in 3 months .......
If he's giving you a tuono for 10 lacs then he's a better friend of yours than mine, get me 2 please for 10 OTR Mumbai.sigpic StreetFighter

I am holding my breath for a conclusion on this thread. I really want to buy the Monster (I may even go for the 796, if the EMIs are low enough - but 795 for sure).
But, I live in Delhi. No dealership here (and someone's comment about 50K for a service just scared the crap out of me).
Also, learned in this thread that if I buy a liter bike, i can't insure it - that was a revelation.
Actually, as much as I want a bike NOW, it looks like the best option may be to wait till the end of this year. But, I am seriously waiting to see what you do - for all you know, I might follow your lead on this one.
Man, I really want that Monster.
Thanks for starting this thread.

@Vaibhav: The dealer is Northwood Motors Pvt Ltd / Ducati Chandigarh. Since you are in Delhi, you might as well head to Chandigarh and pay the dealer a visit. They've sold quite a few bikes and you have the following to choose from: 795, 796, 848, 1198, Diavel, Strada, GT1000 as well the last time I was there. The dealership was under construction then.Originally posted by whoisvaibhav View PostI didn't notice any dealership in Chandigarh on the Ducati website...
Personally I love the Japanese machines and will certainly own I4 someday but then after spending a decent amount of time on these L-twins I seem to like them as much already. Wish they weren't so expensive. While I thoroughly enjoyed riding 796, my heart is set on the 848 among'st the Ducatis. Felt quite at home on the bike as we rode them to Shimla and back and had a great time shooting pictures as well, but that's for another time.
I would also pay good attention to what Samyak has to say. Spares and service could be an issue but Ducati Chandigarh seemed to be gearing up to handle service as far as a potential owner is concerned. They had technicians over from Ducati looking at some of the bikes and setting them up. Be sure to check on the service part when you visit the dealer as I am not currently updated on the same as I write this.
But I've been reading up on the issues surrounding Ducati dealerships closing and AFAIK this is the only dealer in North India at the moment.
I'll PM you the number, you can give them my reference.Last edited by KwokFist; 02-29-2012, 06:10 AM.--------------------------------

You have been misinformed. Everyone I know with a litre bike, myself included, has it comprehensively insured. Very few people on this thread seem to know facts, but gyaan is being spread quite freely.

Its not about having an insurance. Its about claiming it. That was the point. Incase I buy a ZX10R, and then for some reason I need to change some part using insurance, I cant.. I think that was the point.Originally posted by boomshiva View PostYou have been misinformed. Everyone I know with a litre bike, myself included, has it comprehensively insured. Okay it looks like I had not option but to include CB1000 and FZ1 into the picture :P So now its
The Ducati 795 at an excellent price, A Ducati Tag afterall, but an L-Twin (WHY WHY WHYY????)
Then the tuono V4 :Superb bike, v4, amazing features, but costs 15,00,000 On road (outside octroi)
The CB 1000 (Inline 4, amazing bike, really nice bike, and decent pricetag.-But I'm gonna have to take a loan on top of my existing budget) - Exact price no known: Please input!
FZ1 : No clues.. please input.
Triumph Daytona 675: I think its worth the wait.. or is it?
Confused again. Visiting Ducati on Friday..

Lol , I like how you getting yourself confused. Frankly i think you have shortlisted too many bikes from different categories. You need to decide first if you want naked or faired. touring or sports. everyday ride or weekend fun , single or two up riding . Once you have this clear it will be easier to narrow down.2011 Suzuki GSX1300R - Tiforce full titanium DUAL 380 MM, ECU editor Flashed , Unrestricted , custom Map, PCV, Steel Braided Lines , Supersprox F/R, Evotech keyless, Pazzos , FP Tactical , speed o healer , ebc Extreme Pro , Zero Gravity DB , BMC race a/f , Brembo Radial M/C , Galfer Wave rotors F/R , Brembo HP Calipers , Brembo Reservoir, Corbin Custom Seats f/r , Dual HIDs, custom paint and GPR V4 SS.
