I agree with u. I hav a soft corner for ducati. These were "my views" and need nopt be similar to other riders views :P

Ducati 795 or something better?

Hemank Not sure if you have used hydrolic clutch before or not but you might find it a bit of a hassle to bleed it every few months... Put learning on how to do it yourself in your list to save some moneyThe ducati has a hydraulic clutch and is really comfy.
Low end torque is where it is for city riding but anything more and you are going for streety.... however, changing front sprocket on streety for lil bit extra mechanical advantage is awesome for perceived increase of acceleration at lights... Not confusing you but just saying gearing can be changed but once you get the Ducatisti.... you get it...

now this just makes me wonder one thing
where is the confusion now?
from the looks of it you are in LOUVVEE with the ducati.
and trust me - no other bike will ever come close.
so what if it's difficult to maintain and has absolutely no service support?!?! you can always learn all that you would need on a regular basis from lot of sources online.
i say - stretch your budget a bit more and try getting a 796 instead. to me a ducati = single sided swing arm !!!

Hey bro, I rode the 796, and I prefer the 795. Reasons : 796 is taller, taller gear ratios, ad a little sad looking from the front. Man, you have me confused again. I had almost decided not to go for the bike for now. But your review made sure that I am again thinking about it.
The one problem I do have is that I am fairly tall (6ft 4") and now I am thinking whether the 795 might be short for me.
Also, did you find out anything about the running cost (services and spares)?

I went along with my brother (who is 6'1") and it was not short for him. so what you need to do is, basically ride one to judge for urself.. Parts are expensive yes,but if you take care of your machine, then it should not be a problem.. and service intervals are: Check up at 1000kms (Just a check up and oil top up),fine tuning if any, and then service after every 10,000 / 6 months, which ever is earlier..Last edited by hemank; 03-06-2012, 01:11 PM.

Ok, that's it. I am going to call the dealer and figure this out. In delhi, they have a 795 on display, but not a 796 (at the porsche service center).
