I had a 1100 hypermotard for 2 weeks, it's got the air cooled motor which is on the monster 1100. This was a POS.

Service and support...... What service and support?
    What does POS mean?

Is the Hypermotard really that bad. I was actually gonna go for it. But I was concerned about its seat height its about 845mm and i am 5feet8inches. How is it in terms for ridibility?

Went to the ducati showroom. Impressed with the service they offered. Rode the bike. Very happy with it. I think I'm going ahead with it. Seems great. I rode the bike in bombay traffic for a long time. No heating problems. Vibrations are negligible for a L twin. Bike performs great. Love the torqy feel. I'm only dissapointed that they reduced the tyre from 180 to a 160 section one. But overall I would rate ducati's bike, customer service, and sales initiatives as excellent. I'm checking out the triumph street triple (got one in the homologation process through a friend) will ride that tomorrow and then take my final call on monday. But for now it looks like ducatis the way to go.

The Street Triple is the king of the bikes...inline 3 sounds awesome, daytona engine and chasis... its an awesome bike.. having ridden it and monster 796 can say that street triple has an edge a little....do give it a good thought..remember ducatis are that bit expensive to maintain as well...get an estimate on the service cost as well..congrats in advance for going for these bikes..

So far only red. But fortunately, ducati's red looks the best

                            Ok here it is:

The street triple is a three cyl kick a** machine. Just rode one. Not too much, just about a km n half. But here's what I feel about it:

                            Let's start:

                            Weight and feel:
Light wt and easy to manuover in traffic conditions: same goes for the 795

                            Power and engine feel:

The triumph has Really smooth power delivery compared to the ducati. Gear ratios are however tuned for a high speed rides. In the 795, being the 'asian version' of the 796, has shorter gear ratios: thus easy to ride in 2nd in the city. Not to mention the tremendous torque in the first gear: which could also be dangerous. (795)
I personally love the feel of the triumph's engine when it comes to enoying high rpm rides and shifts. But my purpose is to chill, moistly at low revs, in which case I wud opt for the beautiful twin. I would prefer the twin for daily use specially in city riding conditions. When you ride a bit, the engine warms us, the triumph's liq cooled engine turns on the radiator fan and being a naked bike, its really annoying to have that hot air blast on your thigh. The ducati DOES NOT over heat. It heats as good as the triumph. Yes I did ride it in bombay traffic. The surface area on the V is good enough for all the heat to go away also the oil cooler helps a lot. At high speeds, both bikes are equally stable and fun. BUT, imagine ur cruising in top gear, at 85 kmph or so. And suddenly wanna overtake, (I know its great fun to downshift and shoot, but if u don't have time to do that) the ducati really helps. The massive torque at low revs is not comparable to the inline 3. This is again a plus point for me as I would be taking real good care of my baby and not rev it too hard.
The triumph rules when it comes to rev quick and downshift. Lighter engine (crank), faster engine response, and quicker shifts. The ducati takes about half a second more than the triumph to get to the req rpm to downshift. The ducati has a hydraulic clutch and is really comfy. Not the same on the triumph. Mechanical clutch and harder that the 795. I did notice more chain sound on the triumph. Not the same on the 795. The ducati has more vibrations, but believe me, they are pleasant ones.

Usability: I'm 5'6", and the triumph's taller for me the 795 ride height is perfect (asian version) seat on the ducati is softer (to absorb vibes, but turns out to b a better tourer because of that). The ducati feels more stable through ditches :P sorry that's something I gotta consider while I live in pune. Headlight on the monster isn't great. The triumph's headlight is much much better. But I would be upgrading it so never mind.

                            Looks and detailing:

Ducati ducati ducati. Lovely detailing on the bike. Even the mirrors adjust inside the frame. The mirrors are fixed on the handlebars, and only the inner glass can be rotated. Many such things. Nothing beats attention to detail in the 795. The triumph isn't bad at all, but looks like a mexican tacho with stuff sticking out in front of the 795 which is more or a pizza with a lovely layer of cheese covering up all the inner beauties

The triumph Sounds brilliant : ofcourse in the 795 the L twin has its own feel.
But high rev rev rev and shift: triumph wins. Idle and short shifts: ducati.

City use: for a daily city use machine, unless you like the sudden bursts of torque from the L twin, u'd be better off with the triumph.
Handles as good as the 795. Almost the same

Same goes for braking. Almost the same.

Shift quality is slightly on the higher side: compared to the ducati (only for neutral to 1st) otherwise even the ducatis amazing
Built quality is also great: but not as good as its italian competitor. Welding spots can be seen. Engine crankcase liq gasket was all over the joint (did not look good on a new bike) exhausts on the trimuph looks a little cheaper than the ducati.

Tyres: the ducat 795 has a compromised 160 section tyre. Street had a 180 but might b launched with a 160.

I would rate both bikes the same. Its upto you on what you wanna do. Race, or use daily. High speed and short fast fun runs, or daily use and long rides.and most important: ur own choice. I'd prefer the 795 and I'm booking it. If u guys have any questions, pl pm me. Ill rep with all details I can. Thanks a lot everyone. Ill pot updates soon

Hemank even though the ZX-10R is a 2008 model but would turn heads like anything and even "1st hand new" Duc 795, Ninja 650R or GT 650R are incomparable.

ZX-10Rs are not common superbikes even and would turn heads like anything. King like exclusivity and power to beat just anything on road. Would like to know the color of the zx-10r.

Also zx 10r is quite cheap for 7lacs. Good deal. If only the condition is very good.
