re: Dustom's Turbocharged Harley 1250
Switched to vavoline 20w50 semi.
Has been running for 1k, found it to be much lower on noise signature from engine/ valve train.
Muxh less clatter as compared to hd synthetic.
No noticeable change in running temps. You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

Gearbox service done. Changed from HD20w50 to sae90.
Proper gearbox oil and cheaper too.
230/lts instead of 800/ltr for HD oil.
Both primary and chain inspection gaskets reused , no need to change gasket every time.
Overall service cost: 1100rs instead of 6000rs taken by HD.You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

Service cost is lower just cuz i used cheaper fluids! , labour cost is about 2k for official HD service, definitely saved those.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postyour mods already were insane enough.. now a turbo charged HD.. always an inspiration.. will be waiting...

Have been too long in auto industry not to know where OEMs make money!
Turbo sporty is a difficult project!
I have already invested in it! , my usual funda is- put in your hard earned money b4 finding out how to do it, thats the only way to force yourself to complete it!
Lets see!

She has been my Porn mate for a while , and has been a jolly good gal! , so I decided its time she gets some new Shoes! she loves to dance and that old rubber was not helping her any more in Ballet!
I am sure she will be Content with Cheaper Shoes , she knows its been a hard summer this time!
Out goes Mich Kevlar Aramid belted Scorcher 11 HD , Incomes MRF Revz 150/60 , conventional rubber with conventionaly polyester ply.
Will post a Review soon, Initial observations in first 100km have been - did not feel in command on lean angles , locks up rather easily as compared to MICH.
Cost - 3100/- including fitment. You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

That's when I plan to make my moveOriginally posted by dustom_99 View PostLot of fat tummy mid life crisis suffering guys get a bike just because they can! Thinking they would get a life. They have no inclination towards motorcycling or being a rider .
Soon enuf they find out there backs are aching and their box on wheels was better for them.
Slowly that rider josh is converted to sunday morning brkfst rides and once an year flash y motorcycle melas where they roam around in style feeling like real dudes , and there flashy rides are transported to the mela on back of a trailer. They are actually too old to ride that damn thing to that mela.
Then few years down the line they realise this whole bike thing isnt fooling anyone!
Bike appears in classifieds.
Eagerly waiting for the turbo mods!"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr

Yes! Affordability was a problem!Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostBut why cheaper shoes? 'don't think affordability was an issue -

House under construction , and we are expecting! We have a ride (4-5days) planned into the mountains so needed a tyre in a hurry.
On turbo front, things will start moving fast in August , thats when i will receive yearly performance pay.
Already have most of the things bought over ebay except oil cooler + wide band O2 sensors. fabrication and tuning to be doneLast edited by dustom_99; 06-23-2014, 11:57 AM.You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

dustom_99 I really admire the practicality of jobs carried out by you. Generally after market jobs on HD are more of cosmetic but your thread is different one. I am really interested on the TURBO part, it work be really nice of you if you can explain that part in form of parts description, assembly & installation, location of different parts, working etc. All the best for your turbo charged HD (1st in India?).
