Nice video. little shaky at times but accepted. I see that RE had the highest GC among all the vehicles. I also see that you have not changed from mid-control. Would a forward placed controls be better for long rides?
You all did it is as a day trip?

Shaky because most of it was made by holding the mobile phone / camera in hand.
RE is absolute king of such roads , it also has much less rake and quite different design / travel of suspension.
But superlow did alright on all broken patches , sliding around a lot in mud n wet due to its slick tyres. But it was untouchable once we had good tarmac. Leaning a good 40* at places.
A stock superlow with 99mm gc is darn near impossible to take to such place in monsoon , even if its an emergency.
This was not my first such trip , 5nd time to Gangotri and 2nd time on Harley.

Forward control are good for comfort only on proper good highways.
In forward controls you cannot take your weight on your legs in pot holes and broken patches.
You cant lift your butt in air like a jockey , all the torture is taken by your butt and tail bone.
Also one is much less in control of machine in forward controls , as you cant hug the tank with thighs , shifting your weight is not easy and quick.
So depends on type of terrain you want to do really!

This was a 3 day trip , 2 riding days and one day stay. Not a one day trip even if one has 20lc enduro bike or an suv.
350km one way with average speed around 30-40kmph and 40% less o2 available than sea level. Gaumukh is at half the height of mt.Everest and a serious place for weak of lungs!

Since I am from bangalore I asked you about forward controls.
Should we go in for them, if we are riding in a flat terrains like here in and around bangalore (I mean the most of south india - the Deccan plateau)
We will encounter such hilly terrain(not comparable to the himalayan region though) if we are riding to the western ghats or places like ooty.
I feel that if can install forward foot pegs/rests with a mid-control, it should be enough. Best of both worlds. Is this possible?

I think Forward controls come only as a Kit, so whole pegs and controls move forward! I am not sure though.
They are ( Forward control kit) not as such a problem while usual riding even on hilly sections , provided hills not your frequent place of riding and you are not riding hard and fast often!

Another Option is Highway Pegs ( which are mounted on Engine Guard ) , while keeping the stock Controls at Stock position. That Is I guess best of Both worlds!

Dushyant bhai, have been reading your threads both here as well as on TBHP. Your work on falcon crdi is testimony to the fact of how passionate you are for automobiles. Seen all videos posted on youtube. About these fork extensions/risers, I am IN. I am still quite a long while away till I have my Superlow but as in when I get it will want to get them installed.

Alright. I am about to deliver 3 sets to some of my friends, will make 2-3 additional sets . Do let me know which month you want them in so that i keep one for you.
However I would advice you to ride atleast one month , so that you can get a proper feel of before and after.
                      Cheers & good choice .

I will get my HD delivered by January'2015 as per the dealer (Capital, GGN). So I will go as per your recommendation of riding for a month and then reaching out to you after that. Seems like a long wait as of now. Thank you!
