I visited exide website. The largest 2 wheeler battery they have is 14ah. I believe its for RE 500. It has very very close outer dimensions as HD stock battery. Difference is just in couple of millimeters in total height.
I believe it can fit within the stock position.
However they have not mentioned Cold Cranking Amps anywhere , for any battery they offer.
Guess there is no other way except actually trying.

All Bullets with self start get 14aH. Shouldn't be as expensive (may be 1800rs) as HD stock, you can give a try. [emoji106]

Yes thats what i think i am gonna try. Before i.put down money on HD battery. In 2k even if lasts 1year , its more than welcome.
Although i believe if its able to crank the motor 3-4 times for 5 or so seconds at a time , its life isnt going to be much a problem and might actually last pretty long.
Engine hardly ever takes more than 3 sec of cranking to start.

        • Dustom's Harley Davidson Superlow Is now 1250

          1) try R1 battery 10amps 2) try busa battery 15amps.

Do not use indian battery as they are not all fully sealed like they yusa or HD they corrode terminals on these bikes. A chstomer of mine used a bullets battery in cbr1000 and i have seen the good and bad side

Thanks for taking time out and posting!
Amps-hour is ok, anything between 12-18 will be useable , but CCA is crittical. Most of the batteries are not listed with CCA. Yuasa battry will be costing around 8-9k , then it makes sense to go for OEM battery itself.
Anyway , terminal corrosion in an unsealed battery can be pretty much arrested with liberal coating of petroleum jelly. Since Unsealed batteries vent there Hydrogen and little bit of acid fumes into air , terminal metal reacts with it and form salts. Jelly will prevent any terminal corrosion.
I anyway open up battery side cover more often than i open my Zipper to pee , so regular maintainence is not a problem for me.
This sunday I will try a Bullet battery! If it can turn over the motor , nothing like it.

Good luck! let me kow how it goes.

I can assure you the bike will start cos i have done it on I4 1000CC using (Exide XLTZ7 FXL0-XLTZ7, 10amps, 85CCA)

The standards as per my service manuals for 883 are minimum of 12 Amps and 200CCA.
am using the service manual for Harley-Davidson - XL, XLH (Sportster) 2004-2012 (883) to quote. let me know if incorrect

Bought a cheap battery charger for 700. Chinese one.
Let me see if i can revive that stupid thing. Initial voltage as shown was 10.6v
                Looks like a dead cell.

Also inquired about RE battery from the showroom itself. Exide has 2 models costing 1700 and 2800bucks. Both are out of stock.

Hooked up that charger for about 2 hours yesterday.
Battery felt warm after that but voltage remained below 12 even after 2 full hours of charging at 13.8v.
                  Too bad for me!!

Currently I own a D390, but if at all if I buy a cruiser in future, I would definitely pay u a visit. Your creativity n passion, its fascinating. Hats off.

Tore off the top HD stickers of my battery, found 6 sealed caps of cells.
Poked them with a sharp screw driver.
Forced opened each of the cell cap , which seems to have been shut by some kind of glue.
Anyway. Found 3 cells bone dry, and 3 with little bit of fluid.
Topped up each cell with dm water.
Recharged yet again and battery seems to be alive.
It has good 12.64v and is able to start the bike.
MF batteries does not seem to be entirely MF actually.
Lets see if it lasts , its holding charge for now!

Looks like I just earned 10k
