Hey congratulations for the amazing ride.
I too would be buying the same motorcycle once I arrange the down payment. In case you took a loan can you please tell me how much down payment you paid, you mentioned 50 k, how much after that and withing what time frame? There is no happiness for him who does not travel!

Ya, will do. Thing is, these guys take time to bring the accessories.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostDo more justice to this thread. More pics of the Bike specially after all the mods. And yes ride pics........ that has to be there so bring it on....
I've not done any rides with friends yet as my bike is still under run-in period and my office friends have Duke 390s and stuff. So, I won't be able to catch up on straight empty highways.
I just do solo rides everyday (see, I woke up at 5am today
) to get more kms on the odo.
Thanks. Sorry, can't give much info regarding loan. I did a RTGS to pay for the bike.Originally posted by rusty_mechs View PostHey congratulations for the amazing ride.

Re: [Bangalore] Meet my new possession: Triumph Street Triple in Phantom Black
If anyone is wondering "Kitna deti hai?", she is giving a solid 19kmpl on highways during the running-in period (when keeping revs below 6000 RPM, that gives me 120kmph on 6th gear). I ride the bike in variable speeds intentionally because I'm doing a run-in so it might even be 20kmpl if I keep constant speeds for long periods of time.
I think it's good for a bike like this, right?
PS: If anyone's wondering how I know this, the instrument cluster has a live mileage indicator & I checked it manually too.

shadyabhi, any updates on the rear brake issue you experienced. Did it happen again while riding?

It never happened again. I still took it to the dealership though. All he did was clean the brakes.

I now have 813 kms on the odo. Went for a ride to Mysore via Kanakpura. The road was full of twisties & it was awesome. (except last 50kms)
When I called the dealership for the servicing, they don't have any slots will Wednesday. Too bad, won't be able to ride the bike till then.Last edited by shadyabhi; 02-22-2014, 05:00 PM.

First photo is inviting. Great going. Is the run in over? How is high speed cruising comfort as a naked?Originally posted by shadyabhi View PostIt never happened again. I still took it to the dealership though. All he did was clean the brakes.

Re: [Bangalore] Meet my new possession: Triumph Street Triple in Phantom Black
As the run-in isn't over, I can't ride above 6k RPM (It was 5k before 300miles/480km). 6th gear at 6k RPM gives me 120kmph. So, 120kmph is the max I've gone on this bike till now. At 120kmph, the wind blast is of course same as any other naked bike but this bike is so less stressed & stable at 120kmph that the overall feel of riding it is rather more comfortable than other smaller nakeds. Some people have said that adding a flyscreen sometimes makes the ride more uncomfortable depending on your height. (wind starts blowing directly on your helmet)Originally posted by kochumvk View PostFirst photo is inviting. Great going. Is the run in over? How is high speed cruising comfort as a naked?

Run-in actually gets over after 1600km according to the sticker on the tank. But, the booklet says I can ride at high RPMs in short bursts after first service. (ie 800km).
Hopefully, by next weekend, I'll complete 1600km on the bike and then I'll check the bike's capabilities and probably make some GoPro videos.

and then after 1.8k repot on high speed sustained touring. First service experience will tell us a lot too.
