i am wondering does the non biking crowd (junta) notice that this is a big bike? do you get a lot of unwanted attention on the street?

TL;DR: Not as much as a SuperSport but people do turn their heads when I cross the streets.

Well, as it's a naked, it'll surely grab less (read lesser than a SuperSport) attention when it's parked. But, the sounds makes up for it. Although, it doesn't have fairings, it does have a big fat tyre at the rear which validates that it's not an ordinary bike. The bug lights which can never be switched off help in grabbing attention when I'm approaching something.

I recently had the opportunity to ride ST and Bonnie back to back and I loved them both. I have a puny Pulsar 150 and that experience of ST is a lifetime one. There isn't one thing that you can point out and say, umm, this could have been better. It is just so perfect.

What I am interested to know are:

1. General servicing cost and time taken
2. Cost of brake pads
3. Can we switch to different brand of tyres with Triumph still giving warranty provided we go for the same spec and config.

More pics, more pics. Add the speedo console pics in day and night time, plus a throw of healight beam in low and high.

Thanks. I too used to ride a 10 year old Pulsar :P and I still have it for everyday use like coming to office etc.

Bike's service is already due and I didn't get the appointment till Wednesday. So, I'll know about the servicing cost by Wednesday evening. I'll also ask about brake pads cost for your interest.

There are a few "Triumph certified" tyres that can be put on but I don't have the list with me right now but I guess, I'll need it soon. These tyres are really soft and off-roading on these is mostly impossible unless you hate your tyres.

It's 91 octane or higher according to manual. I wasn't specifically told anything about the fuel on first day. I used only the usual petrol for first 800km. (which is 91 according to my googling skills). Fuel economy was 19.4 kmpl during the first 800kms if anyone's wondering. It was a mix of highway and city.

One more thing I observed about this bike, the ground clearance is very bad with a pillion rider. Even on solo rides around the city, I've scraped the bottom two times (which is not too bad though). Now a days, I just slow down and try to take the bike from the sides or via the spot of least height.

get the rear suspension adjusted bro. Although that would mean a little trade-off in comfort.

If someone is wondering regarding the tyres that can be used with Street Triple during the warranty period, here is the list.

I'm yet to ask the dealership whether using different tyres void the warranty, it probably will though.

Done with the first servicing. Costed me ₹5751. To give a little perspective, in US it's around $250-300.

Labour (1800+tax): ₹2022

Engine oil (Castrol Power1 Racing 4T SAE 10W-50) (4 litres) (2689+tax): ₹3080

Oil Filter, Spin on (566+tax): ₹649

Next servicing is now at 10000km or 1 year.

Ya, one more thing. The rear brake issue was just the ABS kicking in. (@AdarshBk, you're right

. Well, I had never ridden a ABS bike before so it was new to me). The sound in rear brake was fixed by cleaning the brakes. Other than that, I had no issues really.

After service, there was a lot of traffic while returning back. Didn't really notice much difference. I felt like engine braking has decreased or something, or may be I'm just over-thinking stuff, or engine got smoother and I'm feeling this. Sorry, I'm confused. :P

It is so wonderful to read through the thread mate. The thing is you graduated from P150 to Beast ST makes your experience more close to normal. Majority of the folks will be hoping to jump from their current puny bikes to big ones since it is practically impossible for everyone to graduated step by step - 100/220cc -> 250 -> 600-650 -> 1000 for example.

I have been saving my bums off for a proper upgrade to my P150 but funds have real hard impact on ones dreams. Happy riding bro, hoping to see this thread picking up some pace and constantly updated.

By the way, where are my request pics of speedo console in night and day? I forgot to take pics of the console when I went for the test ride - I was too excited to see and ride
