I don't know if cross posting is allowed. I am just doing it for the benefit of a fellow bonnie aficionado . If I am violating any forums rules, I request mods to take necessary action.

The test bike at Bangalore dealership has arrow exhaust mounted (dual exhaust pipes) and the music is indeed divine. Good news is, since the reduction in excise duty, there is a price cut of almost 15k. Not so good news, standard waiting period of 60 to 90 days .

Planning on the financial front has begun, now time for me to start convincing everyone at home, wish me luck!!

[MENTION=50794]shadyabhi[/MENTION]. It is not so much confused as undecided about which of the two would be more correct at this point in time. Both are big bikes so I like both of them.

The first issue is that of cost wherein, the Bonnie is costlier by about 1.5L over the K650. That can be managed so is not a major issue. I can manage the the additional dough.

The second and more serious one is the spread of ASCs. I get posted all over the country and specially to North India. Kawa-Bajaj have lots of ASCs to look after their products. However, if I do get a Bonnie, I would need to ride it to Delhi which is the nearest ASC or worse, Bangalore/Hyd. Yes, the ride would be great but the time spent would eat into my precious leave which at this stage, is needed for the wife and kids. As such, I am able to meet them just twice or thrice in a year. Perhaps, I can ride to Delhi, service the bike and then ride ahead to Pune, meet my folks, ride back to Delhi, get a second dekko for the bike and ride up to my work station. My wife will go crazy worrying about me but then, that is par for the course.

The comparison is indeed strange but I made this sheet for my own sake and for others who seemed to be in the same boat.

When I wanted to quote the thread starter to ask him a question, I was told that my post would be moderated before showing up. That took me to the forum rules and man, they do run a highly controlled environment there. A member with less than 25 posts cannot even PM another member just to ask him a 1 to 1 question (in the interests of not littering the thread). Seems ominously like a Fascist setup to me.

In comparison, this forum is a breath of fresh air. Members practise self-moderation to a great extent and those that type first and think later are panned by their own colleagues rather than the xBhp police intruding every now and then like a nanny wagging a stick. I do hope that the mods keep the free-wheeling nature of the forum as it is rather than implement the Draconian rules of the other forum.

Next step is to get all of these.




I've to buy a 2-piece full leather Alpinestars suit (http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-atem-jacket + http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gp-plus-leather-pants) this month for trackdays so I'm giving it more priority over the above accessories. Will get these accessories hopefully by next month end.

So what happened to the Triumph showroom that is expected to open at pune?

Is it not going to happen?
Bonne will have more charm than the ninja but if naked is Ok an er6n will keep a nice 2l in bank for gas. And will give a water cooled motor. You can service it at pune or any major city as well. But yes you will not feel the same way as you are on the classic bonnie.

The T&C says delivery times as a *minimum* of 3 months so I'm sure no dealer will commit the delivery times less than 3 months to you.

That's the thing. I experienced the same kind of cold behavior before the showroom got opened here in Bangalore. They didn't have a dedicated staff to look into all this. Once the showroom opened, they've now become very responsive and even respond to missed calls if they're unable to pick the call for some reason.

This is what I pointed out recently when a slightly errant member was being taken to task by the members here. This forum's USP is the 'freedom' it provides its members. Anyone is welcome. The 'other' forum is highly moderated and is meant only for 'serious'(read middle aged/old) guys
In their defense though, the content is rather more readable per page than here but hey, democracy is usually not as well oiled a machinery as an autocracy is

I sometimes see members complaining of only OT on threads, but a bit of banter is a welcome change from the sometimes monotonous commentary of bike niggles.

After accessories for your protection, first thing to consider should be wind screen. Found below PUIG windscreens for ST from other forums. Guess it will give a better protection from wind than the OEM.

Any experience with how is the protection on these kind of windscreens in upright position? Do they help at all? Reason I'm asking this is because if I'm in tucked-in position, wind-blast is manageable, even at 200kmph & I'm not willing to play with my bike's aesthetics if it doesn't help me in upright position.

I know for a fact that OEM flyscreen is just for aesthetics and does nothing to reduce the wind-blast.

Upright position no windscreen will give a complete protection, still this should make a huge difference when riding above 150 km/h. It is not a big windscreen which will be having an effect in bike's aesthetics. PUIG website or reviews in the forum may have more details.
