Also, you won't be cruising at 8k RPMs in 6th gear on the highway for long periods of time so don't worry about them too much.

So, the bike has got it's first problem with Indian summers approaching. I took my bike out today at noon time after 13 days as I was not in Bangalore. Needless to mention, it was really hot in direct sunlight & the slow moving traffic of 13 kms made things even worse.

When the bike heated up in traffic and started to have 1 more bar than usual in coolant temperature gauge, it randomly stalled at slow speeds multiple times, when clutch is pressed & throttle is rolled off. By slow speeds, I mean, the situations like taking a turn where speeds get less than 10kmph that forces to you to use clutch or starting off a traffic light signal in slow traffic, the type where you have constantly press/release clutch.

I've observed that when the bike is cool or at normal working temperatures, it idles at around 1800 RPM but when it heats up, it gets down to 1000 or sometimes 900 RPM. One time, the engine started to struggle at these low RPMs, the kind of which makes you feel that the engine is about to stall. Once, after the stall, it even refused to start & took three self-starts to get back to life.

I've talked about this to the Triumph dealership and I'm giving the bike for diagnostics on Tuesday. I just hope that the problem gets fixed soon.

Google search says that there could be something wrong with throttle position sensor. May be the idle stepper motor needs to be adjusted/bypassed. Well, lets see what Triumph says about this.

Can it be due to fuel quality in India? little bit over heating should not cause a stall. Lets wait and let them come back.

By the way, did you pay and handling charges to the dealer? I have been asked to pay 15K as handling charges above ex-showroom. I thought ex-showroom includes all.

I'm guessing it's due to the fuel quality. I never faced that problem until now, after I started filling petrol constantly from the same petrol pump (Passport office, 80ft road) . Today morning, I did a full tank from some other petrol pump & went for a 170km ride. While returning I went to the same kind of traffic & luckily no issues, what so ever. It was also idling at around 1300 RPM even when it's heated (1 bar more than usual). I have always filled the regular fuel & I'm guessing this particular petrol pump has bad quality fuel.
[MENTION=68769]DipantS[/MENTION], yes, I paid that handling charges. Actually, I booked the bike without knowing the on-road/ex-showroom price & before the showroom got opened so I just paid what was asked. The quick bike delivery was priority for me :P

By the way , how much clocked on odo now ? How about tyres ? Nearing replacement ?

Not much on the odo, 2532 kms . I was out station for 15 days so the bike wasn't ridden at all. Tyres are fine for now. Depending on the kind of riding I've been doing, they'll easily last another 4-5k or more, I don't know, will keep you guys posted.

Many congratulations shadyabhi for buying a wonderful Street Triple. It looks gorgeous. I had been to Keerti motors and was provided a short ride in building premise. Loved exhaust note. I feel its overpriced but it offers exclusivity. If all is well then i will buy it when i return to India in july this year. Happy motoring.
