If you have a "full-sized" pillion (girlfriends might be ok :P), you will have problem in bumps around the city. Actually, it's not the coolant reservoir that touches, it's the metal part of exhaust.

If you are without a pillion and going slow, you'll rarely have a contact.

nice thread. Congratulations on your bike. I have a few questions which i have been asking all street owners.
1. Did you consider speed triple while making a decision to buy? If yes, what made you decide otherwise?
2. How is the suspension setup for the bad roads?
3. How is the rider and pillion rider comfort on long tours?
4. Do you ever wish you should have gone for a speed triple?

I researched about Speed but never planned on buying one. I wanted a bike that is perfect mix of practicality & performance. All the online reviews had always put Street Triple as best in it's class (600cc) but never Speed Triple as the best naked in its class ( 1000cc ). I agree that those two arrow exhausts on a Speed sound extraordinary & that torque would be so nice to have but I have always had in mind to own a 1000cc super sport in the next 2-3 years so I wasn't into that.


Street Triple's suspension are setup to provide good handling and stability while cornering. They are not setup soft in any way and you might have issues with *bad* roads. Having said that, I have never noticed the suspension as a problem on this bike.

As it's a street bike, the comfort is good. The seat is very comfortable and wide. Doing anywhere around 600kms in one day shouldn't be a problem at all. I was a little tired on my first 600km ride but now, I don't feel tired after those long rides.

I can't say much about the pillion comfort as I've never had a pillion on actual rides. But, I'm guessing that the high footpegs will eventually trouble the pillion.

No, never had the thought like that. To satisfy the need for pure power, I plan to buy 1000cc supersport like ZX10r or R1 or CBR1000RR in next 2-3 years before I get married :P. (I hope my parents never read this. :P )

@shadyabhi Bro how to check the manufacturing date and year of ST by using the VIN Number, did you check yours bike manufacturing year?

I am thinking of buying a Daytona 675, Street Triple or Boneville depending on the budget and this bike will be kept for 5 to 8 years , so need to be careful with my final decision. Would you help me when I come to Hyderabad to finalise it; I don't want to end up buying a 2013 model.

The three bikes that you're thinking about are very different. You gotta decide what's your preferred riding style first. . I decided with Street Triple because I wanted a good performance machine with the riding position that's better than a full-on Super Sport. I'm from Bangalore and yes, I can definitely help you in answering your queries

I am firm on getting a performance oriented Triumph SBK but the main problem is budget and I also have to bargain for a few accessories too. [MENTION=50794]shadyabhi[/MENTION] I prefer riding the bike with straight up right position without tilting left or right during a cornering, is it possible to do it on the Daytona or ST?

You can't turn your bike without leaning it. . I'm sorry, jokes aside I didn't quite get what you wanted to ask. Street Triple is definitely for a more relaxed ride but I'm pretty sure that you can also get used to a Super Sport. It's just a matter of time.

I meant I don't know how to ride like you i.e bending the body to left and right while making a turn, look at the photographs you have posted. I can ride it sitting in an up right position without leaning to much towards the handle bar.

Then my friend, you are looking at Triumph Bonneville. Its the biggest bike that is the easiest to ride. I have test ridden both Street and Bonnie. Trust me, I came up smiling the same on both. Street is a sweet little bug that is bullet fast. For my style of riding, it tick marks all the correct checkboxes - I love Street Triple.

Bonnie on the other hand is a cruiser that everyone would kill for to have in the garage. I ain't a fan of cruisers but Bonnie is different. I loved it too despite the showroom folks saying that after riding Street, I may not find Bonnie exciting. But I proved myself wrong. Bonnie is simply lovely.

If I had enough moolah, I would love to get both or since I already own a Duke, I would be slightly tilted towards Street.

Hi guys, I finally ordered flyscreen, bellypan and Arrow exhaust a week back. Mr. Prasanna called me up today and said that he has Arrows in stock already & I can get it fitted by tomorrow evening. Yay!

I plan to do a comparision video too.

What is the cost of the Arrow exhaust? And from where you ordered it?

It's around 35k plus 3k for installation and loading a new map for the ECU. I ordered it via the Triumph showroom itself. The best part is, it doesn't void the warranty and I can remove the baffles and have all the fun. Once I'm done with this warranty thing, I plan to shift to competition werkes exhaust which is even louder.
