Bad luck. I once had a puncture in the very beginning of owning this bike in the rear tyre & the plug that was used gave up on me. The tyre lost half the pressure in a week & that's how I noticed it during the weekly tyre pressure check. Will get that fixed tomorrow, again!

Don't fix the puncher with the plug thingy. The puncher hole gets wider with time that way.
I have read of a puncher repair procedure in Duke 390 thread where the tyre is taken out and the puncher is fixed from the inside. For tyres as expensive, this is the way to go.

@Adarsh_Bk & @nadz11.ns, thanks for the help, so mushroom plug it is. Now, I need to find a place where I can get that done.

Google search suggested two places: "Madhus Enterprises, Langford Road" & "Tire empire, Whitefield". I'll call both of them & the Triumph dealership to see if they can help me with anything.

I would suggest to get that mushroom puncture thingy from these tyre shops (if available) and get the fix done at Triumph showroom itself. These tyre shops wont be familiar with rear wheel assembly of streety (kinda obvious ) and they may screw up something. Going to showroom is the best bet.

You can get the mushroom puncture done at any decent tyre shop.. the local fellows won't know about it though..

Isn't it better to use Puncture Sealants like Slime which seals small punctures internally without any hassles of removing the wheel ?

There is a theory that it might mess up with wheel alignment and not recommended for high speeds. I don't know. I personally have no experience with them.

They themselves recommend getting the puncture fixed later on It is only temporary and for bikes like Striple where 200kmph comes up on speedo before you fully let a fart out (I maybe exaggerating slightly ) its important the puncture gets fixed properly.

Moreover slime and such similar products are effective only on centre portion of the tyre and also only for small punctures. It cant seal bigger ones.

Few have reported this as well. You can search international triumph communities to see if people use any such similar tyre sealant products.

I am using Slime on my ZMR, and I am pretty happy with it. As you mentioned it could harm bikes that run at high speeds, no clue. Let us know your updates

So, finally got that fixed.

Called up Mr. Samarth at Keerthi Triumph and explained him about the issue. He was ready to help throughout the process. Reached the dealership at around 11:30am and got the rim removed. Then, went on a scooty with one of the Keerthi's guys to Madhu Enterprises. They told that as it's already plugged, the hole is big and can't be fixed by mushroom patch & suggested to go to "General Tyres" (has authorized tyre repair center for Michelin) on JC Road. There I got the heat patch done & it's all good now. . There was one another small superficial crack in the tyre which was caused because of broken glass (found that 1mm inside the tyre) on the road, got that fixed too. Gosh, these tyres really need attention!


Moral of the story: Always use the mushroom patch whenever you get puncture on these soft tyres. They're more reliable and less likely to fail than simple plugs that are put from the outside.

And may be, I was swindled but it costed me ₹500 for the whole thing. Usual mushroom plug costs ₹200 so I think it's a ok ok deal.
