Hi there! I don't think it's overpriced. A supersport is always going to be more expensive than other bikes like sport tourers (for ex, people keep comparing it with Ninja 650). This bike is essentially a non-faired sport bike (the D675). It handles like one, weighs like one, performs like one & costs like one.

Hi shadyabhi congrats for your triumph street.how much Kms clocked, finished first service?if so what about the service cost? Can you please share with us ? Mentally prepared to get one but financially thinking about the service,spares and maintenance cost. So please give us some idea about this fact.

Congrats on the Street Triple. I took a test ride the other day at the Bangalore dealership and loved it. It's a beautiful bike to ride; smooth, powerful and so easy to maneuver.

I however decided to book the Bonneville instead as i felt it suits me and my riding style a bit more. The wait begins which is the hardest part!

Thanks for your wishes. I've around 2600kms now. I've mostly been out of Bangalore during last 2 months so don't get much time to ride. . The first servicing was around ₹6000 (labour charges was 1800+tax if I remember correctly). I've everything mentioned in this thread but I'm too lazy to search in the thread right now. If you go through the thread from beginning, you'll get all this info. Here in India, Triumph accessories are cheaper than US. From other things I remember, chain cleaning and lubrication costed me 100 and a tyre puncture plugging costed me 200 or something similar. It's not super expensive. Service interval is 10k or 1 year which is very good, 2 year unlimited mileage warranty too.

I feel both the bikes are excellent and belong to two distinct categories. I choose the Bonneville over the Street due to the following;


- I will be doing a bit of two up touring and felt the Bonnie would be better for that.
- The Street is stylish and my tastes a bit more conventional.
- It would have costed me a bit more than what I wanted to spend at this stage

How many Bonnie's do you think have been sold in Bangalore? Any one on this forum?

Would love to ride with you once my bike comes. Let me know how we can hook up?

As I booked the bike before the showroom got opened, the whole process was slow for me. I paid the booking amount by cheque on 19th Dec & got the receipt on 3rd Jan. http://i.imgur.com/iZqzgIS.png . It had details like the overall number in the queue and my position in the queue specific to the model. For ex, overall my number was 30 but 6th in the Street Triple's queue.

Regarding your points for booking a Bonnie, I agree to all of them. Street Triple's tyres are not really for touring. Online forums say, they last around 4-5k miles. And buying a set of Rosso Corsas every 4k miles for a hard core tourer will surely be expensive. I still feel that Street Triple has pretty mature styling though. (for ex, comparing it to Z800).

We can surely ride together . Best of luck for your bike getting delivered in less than 3 months. T&C says a minimum of 3 months in case you didn't notice.

4-5k implies extremely short life. How much do these tires cost and are there any touring friendly tyres available in this size which would last at least 10-12k kms?

I surely agree. The Street does look mature in styling in comparison to others in this segament.

The delivery timeline does say 3 months as the outer limit however looks like the colour I want is available sooner. Hoping to get it in the next 15 days.

They'll last around 8000 kms (I told in miles if you missed that). Diablo is the sports series in Pirelli that fits on 17inch rims. There are 3 models in that series: Diablo Rosso 2 (aimed towards street use), Diablo Rosso Corsa (comes as stock in Street Triple) and Diablo Super Corsa SP (comes as stock in Daytona). Rosso 2's are more for Street (relatively hard compound), Rosso Corsas (hybrid compound, soft on the sides, hard/medium in the middle) are a good mix of grip and durability, Super Corsa SPs (full surface is soft) are best available race tyres in that series. Rosso Corsas cost around $170 (rear) and $130 (front) in US. For India prices, I'm yet to find that out.

There are many sport touring tyres that are available which will last longer. I'm yet to explore all the options so can't really comment much on that. One tyre that comes to mind is Pilot Road 2/3.

Broke my bike's front mudguard. . I recently bought a disk lock and it didn't come with that "reminder cord". Today morning, I forgot to remove the disk lock before moving the bike out of my garage. Heard the plastic crack and found out that the disk lock was still on.



Have asked the dealership for a price quote.

That's really bad, sorry to hear that. On the other side you can now look for replacing it with carbon fiber one from Daytona. CF one looks really awesome..

It hurts a lot to get the first damage on the bike. On my morning ride to Magadi today, I returned half-way because I wasn't feeling like riding.
There is a crack on the mudguard but it isn't moving anywhere. It's pretty rigid. I'm planning to keep it this way by putting a sticker over it. When I go for another set of upgrades like Arrow exhaust, bellypan, fly screen etc in 2 months time, I'll get this replaced too. I'll see how CF one looks in real life and decide.

Apart from that, I recently started filling Petrol from Shell (Shell Super) and noticed a smoother ride. Also, the bike continues to ride without rolling the throttle even in 3rd gear which is pretty impressive. I know Shell buys petrol from the same refinery as other companies but it's petrol is definitely better. Earlier, it used to start lugging even in first gear without rolling the throttle. I'm guessing, the petrol in the petrol station near my home was really crappy.

Felt sorry for the first damage.first change it at once then only your heart will feel light while taking your ride.Otherwise there will be some hard thought always remains in our heart.Also give us the price of the mudguard.

I called up the dealership and they're saying that it'll come around ₹9500 (in US, it's almost the same price. 2013 Triumph Street Triple R FRONT MUDGUARD Parts, 2013 Triumph Street Triple R FRONT MUDGUARD OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com). I'm surely going to replace it. The part will take around 15-20 days to arrive.

I can't live with a cracked mudguard. It'll always remind me of my negligence. Will get it replaced as soon as I can.
