It's has truly been a joyful experience for me. The bike is fun to ride and people noticing you on road feels nice too. Just today, I went for a morning ride to see-off my friend to Airport & the guard stopped me just before the Airport drop-off lane. He said, "Kitne cc ki hai? Bike nayi si lagi to rok liya!!", and then we exchanged smiles. .

When are you starting the actual intended use of st? Now is the the time to say ride safe. The game is starting I guess. So by Sunday evening I am expecting a blast report.

How many kmpl when ripping, how tired after considerable highway miles you are are most important questions from my side.

Plan is to get the run-in complete by Saturday evening during my ride to Sakleshpur. I already have 1089 on the odo as of now. But, ya, run-in will surely be done by this weekend. Regarding the intended use, I wish to do a track day but I can't book the session (Apex racing etc) as I've a trip to US coming up in next 1-2 months whose dates are not planned yet. (so can't prebook).

Planning to do a speed-run with GoPro if I'm comfortable riding at those speeds. I'll ride safe and see how far I can take it. Today, I rode my bike at 140kmph for short periods of time & it felt nice to ride at those speeds for the first time. The wind blast was quiet noticeable but at tucked-in position, it was manageable.

Done with the run-in.

* 1686 kms on the odo right now.
* Top speed I tried, 192 kmph.

Also, got the first puncture on the rear. :S http://i.imgur.com/6xw18cc.jpg . I still don't have frame sliders so you can see the chicken strips but it still got some treatment on the sides during my trip to Uppinangady.

I just found out about the puncture when I was cleaning my bike today morning. Yes, I was cleaning tyres too :P . Went for a air-pressure check and found that it was 34 instead of 42.
Unfortunately, I've never owned a tubeless tyre automobile and don't have a tyre puncture kit. (Have already ordered one now). Will get this fixed tomorrow. It looks like a nail but I've not tried to take it out as it'll cause the tyre to deflate pretty quickly.

What was the on road price of the bike ? (I think I missed if you had posted earlier.)

How was the bike behaving at high speed? Stability and vibration at 190 kmph?
How comfortable are you with the bike, especially the migration from your previous bike?
Will you be able to do a Z800 test ride and give a small comparison when its possible? I know I am asking too much but your points will be very valid and helpful for others; especially from a ST owner's view point.

Should keep pedal/foot air pump as well, will be useful.

On-road price in bangalore with ND insurance was ₹913045.
And no, I haven't got it as of now. For now, I've just ordered the following accessories: (all protection related)

A9640059: Fork Protectors
A9708268: Rear Hugger
A9930011: Adapter 12V
A9790008: Rubber tank pad
A9788013: Frame protector kit

Once I'm done with these, in the next phase, I'll do a full system exhaust, bellypan & may be a fly-screen. (I still like the naked bug-eye look more)

The bike was stable, as in, not moving around or anything but the wind-blast was too much (as expected). My Alpinestars mesh jacket started shaking on the arms area as it's slightly loose because I've relatively thin hands. It's mostly impossible to stay in upright position at those speeds & even checking rear-view mirrors at those speeds was difficult as the wind-blast was too much & mirrors on this bike are not optimized for tucked-in position.

I can certainly do a test ride of Z800 depending on whether they actually provide a test-ride. Btw, depending on the internet, you should consider the Street Triple only. . Not everybody is as good as Triumph in this regard. . They now even have a Daytona for a test-ride. Isn't that awesome!!!

And yeah, I've already ordered a 12V adapter so as soon as I get that installed, I'll buy a tyre inflator too. I got the tyre puncture fixed by the Triumph dealership itself and they charged me ₹175 + tax, quite reasonable I would say.

Oh a puncture this soon is painful. Especially on this rubber that costs so much.
Don't worry about it though.

If your height is not 6 plus a flyscreen will help a bit at those speeds I guess.

You can always tell us how that aluminium frame did on faster corners etc. Comfortable cruising speed?

Ya, I'm not worrying too much. The rubber will soon need a replacement. With track days, this rubber lasts around 5-6k miles so it's not a long lasting tyre.
I'm 5'7" so it may help. Lets see.
Sorry to disappoint you but I can't really compare the bike among it's competitors regarding handling. Last saturday, I rode at Shiradi ghats area & in those kind of corners, I was confident enough to take turns at speeds of around 90-100 kmph. You can have a look at my tyre puncture pic to get the idea about lean angles. ( http://i.imgur.com/6xw18cc.jpg ). It's surely not track-day kind of knee dragging lean angles but it was good enough for street riding while being safe on roads with no divider. What I mean to say is, the bike feels pretty planted to the road even on bumpy corners & I get a good feedback while taking the corners. I'm sure I can utilize the bike better & I want to but I'm waiting for my frame sliders to come before I can do my first track day and learn better cornering.

Regarding comfortable cruising speeds, in upright position, speeds around 120 kmph felt comfortable with closed visor, gloves & riding jacket. Basically, it's about how much wind-blast are you willing to take. Bike surely doesn't feel stressed at all.

It will not be practical to ride at 120 whole day though. Due to both temptation and lack of time.

I see many guys buying fz 1 etc. Always wondered how comfortable they are on longer rides. As far as I know the guy with acra on his fz1 in chennai (in case you see this ) is doing some appreciable work on longer rides.

How practical is a middle weight naked for fast touring (eg pune - bangalore - cochin) is what I am mainly trying to find out.

May be I will find it out here. I don't know how much you tour or you are more interested in short trips and track days.

To give you a little perspective, I did 630km (Bangalore to Uppinangady) in 13 hours (counting 1 hour of Bangalore traffic) & It wasn't like I had a sore back or palms or painful ass etc. I was just tired of sitting on the bike all day. Just want to say it wasn't too bad and a 2 hours nap fixed everything.

My cruising speeds were around 110-140kmph depending on traffic & sometimes 150+ kmph to keep the trip interesting

I never really used my old bike for anything other than city commuting just because it wasn't exciting enough. After I got this one, I've just started to do rides. Also, stock tyres won't last long if you want to do a lot of touring.

So did you get the puncture sorted?, keep an eye on tyre pressure specially u been doing 192kmph and speeds greater than 150kmph
