Trip to Igatpuri
I feel my body is getting conditioned as time progresses. This was my 3rd longish trip i.e. 140+ kms types. I remember i was struggling and halting every 10 mins for during last 75 mins of my first ride which was to lonavala. But now its getting better. But neck is still a problem.
Anyways Igatpuri was a challenging trip, primarily for 3 reason, one it was a day trip mainly afternoon trip so loads of heat(earlier were late evening type trips) two this is 275 km trip much longer than previous two and there it was combination of bad roads, diversion and two way.
The One performed beautifully. Somebody had rightly said, Respect is all it commands. After a long ride when i use the halt in pain, the pain use vanish marveling those beautiful curves
.
There was a huge wind blast in between and realized i had touched 147kmph with couple of seconds, slowed down immediately.
I also had bit of soft offroading (probably 500mts) on my way to a serene lake. On my way back, night ride was also awesome. Temperature was consistently 78C so inner thigh burns was not a problem. I also had lovely Punjabi food at dhaba.
Good ride with delicious butterly food is true recipe for dream weekend
!!
Straight away slept for 10 hours after returning!!
Update: The One has done 725 odd kms in 16 days and nearing her first service now

Sandy,
SAFTEY SAFTEY SAFTEY -- please RUN out and get a good helmet and proper gear.... its money well spent.
I dont think a lot of SBK riders in India cannot appreciate the need for good gear, please do not be one of those people.
I have seen idiots get really hurt for ignoring gear...... and I have seen people who have been saved a lot of pain and injury because of gear.
There is a particular way a helmet is supposed to fit..... do not buy any helmet that does not pass this criteria, because wearing a loosely/improperly fitting helmet can leave you more hurt than not wearing a helmet at all.

I agree with Ducati965 here. But I know for sure, Sandesh is serious about his gear and he's getting the gear together from what I know the last time we spoke. It's similar to the situation I was in when I got my R1 last year. I had just not provisioned enough money for gear and it took me almost 3 months to put together a decent suit+helmet combo.
It's tough being a biker on a budget

@Rossiter: Thanks brother! You can well empathize the feel of riding an SBK naked (i mean without gears)!!
@Ducati695:If you would had seen a post above your, I had mentioned i am upgrading to Joe Rocket Helmet. I know the importance of Gears buddy...its goes without saying!! One cant even fathom traversing @ speeds of 140kmph+ without gears!!Last edited by SandycoreBiker; 03-18-2009, 06:58 PM.

@sandy: Sorry if I annoyed you by pointing at your present day lack of gear.
The only reason I was emphasizing the issue of proper gear is there is amazing ignorance of proper gear that I see in the Pune SBK riders.
It is just astounding that they would spend so much money getting neon lights, and other accessories on their bikes, but choose to not buy proper gear.
I don't know of anyone in Pune (other than me) who rides with full gear; most people use a DSG jacket, similar helmet and basic gloves.

@sandy: This sunday is definitely on, I have been meaning to call you since the last few days, but something or the other has kept me from doing it. Will definitely call you today.
I have a couple of friends who may join me for the Sunday ride, usually the group tends to be bigger but not since "you know what" happened
