Do you have anything oozing out of the end of the silencer? Like unburnt oil? If yes running bike on that much for that long my best guess is that the cylinder has been glazed pretty bad get it checked from somebody you trust. As far as the pump goes start your motor up. Pull the oil wire part of the throttle out of the crank case (it is resting on the adjuster). After this pull the 2t oil pipe from the carb and plug that hole with your finger. Do not revv the engine because no 2t oil is going in from the pump (unless you premix). Wait a sec or two you will notice oil coming out from the 2t oil pipe. Voilla! You have a good 2t oil pump make sure it is adjusted properly and go rip her openOriginally posted by dpak89 View Posti ve been adding extra oil since i did reboring!!! its been a year i ve been doing this!!! :S i hope this dint make any serious impacts on my bore
and anyway?? to check whether the pump is working or not by ourselves?? coz i am going to service my bike next week in yss ...i dont want them to bluntly say"your pump is worn out " without even a glance at the pump!! which they always do :X suggest some !!RIP ਕਾਕਾ ਭੈਣੀਆਂਵਾਲਾ (Santokh Singh Rataurh)

Okay here we go this is going to be a bit of a read so bear with me
1. Warm up your RX so that it idles without any problem, trust me you want to warm her up it is good anyways and turn her off.
2. Pull out the 2t oil feeder tube from the carb and plug the faucet with your finger as shown in the picture below

it is important to plug the hole with your finger because the engine will be sucking in lots of air through the faucet and if not plugged it will lean your mixture causing your motor to simply come to a stand still in a matter of seconds.
3. Now pull out the 2t oil wire from the crank case with your other hand like this

it is important to keep this wire pulled out during the entire duration that your motor is turning.
4. Kick start your RX and DO NOT rev it while keeping the faucet plugged with your finger and the wire pulled out you will notice that the level of 2t oil in the pipe that feeds the carb will start rising. The rise will not be gradual rather it will be in stages as the pump is stroking that 2t oil out.
5. After less than a minute or two you will notice that the oil has started overflowing out of the pipe like this

6. Turn her off, plug the pipe back and let go of the wire.
If this is how it worked out for you voilla! You have a working pump that spewing out the right amount of 2t. If it takes your pump longer to pump out the 2t oil or it does not pump at all well you need to change it because repairing it will never bring it back to 100% you can add shims as well but I doubt if that will do you any good in the long run and that's a different ball game. Also make sure you don't run her dry for more than 5 mins max if you have not premixed any 2t oil.
Good luck!Last edited by dafc; 01-28-2011, 12:22 PM.RIP ਕਾਕਾ ਭੈਣੀਆਂਵਾਲਾ (Santokh Singh Rataurh)

hey dafc... that s gr8... cant wait to try it out... I hope it goes fine..I read about the air screw and tried that out yesterday.. First of all im not very sure if i did get the airscrew right... I went and tightned it totally... then started my bike ant it just went idling totally to the extreme. I didnt know what to do at that time and turned off the ignition, and guess what..... it sill is idling and did not turn off.. scared the s**t out of me.. then i put the gear and slowly turned it off... then fixed it back to get the proper idling... Still not sure if that was the air screw... An experiment gone wrong/right i dont know... but was fun... Ppl staring at me like i have comitted some big crime......!!! Dont really care....

These things keeps happening always & people might even call you, but simply don't care. Unless you get you hands dirty, you cannot ride with pride. Check out my Rx rebuild where at one stage I conked something & my Rx started moving in reverse instead of forward LolOriginally posted by raghu_shekar View PostI went and tightned it totally...Ppl staring at me like i have comitted some big crime......!!! If its 3-5 mins & you don't rev too much, then nothing to worry & no need to premix or anything.Originally posted by dpak89 View Postbut another thing is that i should add some 2t oil in the oil tank before doing it rite???correct me if i am wrong !!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Well, I thought we were discussing about checking if the oil pump works to the question of Raghu.Originally posted by dpak89 View Postbut aargee from where will the 2t oil come if i dont add anything??

There is no need of adding 2t into petrol as long as you are not revving your motor to the moon. Plus like I said you'll get to know the condition of your pump in 1 or 2 mins no harm done in that time.Originally posted by dpak89 View PostBro!!! you made my day!!! i will do it once i reach my home!!!but another thing is that i should add some 2t oil in the oil tank before doing it rite???correct me if i am wrong !!!RIP ਕਾਕਾ ਭੈਣੀਆਂਵਾਲਾ (Santokh Singh Rataurh)
