@Sudhir Kumar:- If you have not already planned restoration process or need some help, kindly go through the two stroke section, there are many members who have successfully restored. Members:- Aargee, BigBore, Yamdoot, Karthikduttag, NitinGirish that I could think of. Also there are several information shared as to the differences in RX models that were released in India, i.e., parts, technical difference, etc.

From what I can tell you is RX restoration process is similar to Project Management/Manager's job:-

      01. Setting objective (what do you want to achieve)
      02. Analysing what parts needs to be changed
      03. Gathering information
      04. Budgeting
      05. Setting timelines
      06. Acquiring spares
      07. Who's going to carry the restoration job
      08. Monitoring and feedback
      09. Execution.

Just sharing my thoughts here, hope it helps!

      All the best!

Yes i have not well planned the restoration but i have plan.Since the bike is for away from me and it will be used only for 10-12 days with a gap of 4 month in a year, i am not going for full restoration.first engine work is to be done and then painting.Actually i wanted to bring this bike to bangalore for these works but its seems uneconomical for me.I will carry out the engine work with my local mechanic and painting work in Varanasi/Benaras but still i have to search a good painter in varanasi.
If any body from the forum knows a good painter in varanasi kindly inform me.

          Hello

I agree to the above, thats a great way to actually plan and go ahead with the restoration.

Since you are not going for full restoration i would really recommend to check the chassis and forks as the top priority. To really enjoy the ride even more than the engine, the stability is important. Since you are already doing the piston work on the engine so i believe that has been taken care of. But do check for any slightest of unstable ride and put it in your top most priority to get it rectified.

Regarding the Crux speedo, it does look good (no problems with the original Rx 135 ones but the round ones also look good as they came standard in the later 4 speed bikes). Also it comes with the advantage of a central locking for which you will have to modify the chassis a bit by welding a small stopper on it. This will help you to lock your bikes handle from the ignition key itself. Its not that tough a job and a simple welder could do it.

I would also recommend the original seat from yamaha. For the 135 model it is really good. And mostly all the factory yamaha spare part dealers have it. Though its a personal choice but originals are good too.

            Many many thanks for suggestion,
I have tried the bike with higher speed but there is no problem of stability. Both tyres are new but very thin so there is a problem with braking.my speedo is fine ,problem is with worm gear etc.situated in front wheel.I dont want to change original speedo but i want to have central locking. In my office compound in bangalore i have seen a rx135 fitted with central locking and also having the original speedo, i will go for same.currently my bike don't have rear half mudguard and whole tail light unit.should i go for stock look or something other for that.
            thanks
            sudhir.

^ I've not heard SAM for RX though. Escorts brand piston is good. But, if you are getting ART piston nothing like it.

as sriram already suggested,i had never heared about SAM brand.Escorts Mahle is the OE for rx.whereas ART will be much better due to it's light weight, reliability and outstanding performance.i would like to suggest don't use SAM.

I am sharing the feedback my technician gave me regarding SAM pistons.

Apparently, they do NOT come in standard sizes i.e. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 or 1. Quality is also not good. I would suggest stay away.

Its SAMKRG piston from a hyderabad based manufacturer.I have gone through their site ,They are supplying piston parts to Yamaha abroad but people are giving negative comments about this (SAM) piston.Since i have not experienced the original ART (My bike may have original because it is first rebore, oversize but it is already worn),what will be difference if using SAM ???

set your bike on fire or run it over with a bulldozer, the former two actions will have the similar effect on your bike as using sam pistons , if you can find it go for art if not go for mahle (theyre still in production) or else go for goetze , mahle and goetze come in the same price range of sam but are way better in quality
