Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
The rear one is Michelin M45 and these were available as imports in our country. This one is made in Thailand.Originally posted by anoop_mba View PostIs that one imported ? How does it perform on wet roads..?
Its a very good tyre and I get better mileage too. You may search shops to get some old stock as these are not available, I think.
The front Sirac Street is Indian made.
Thank you for the info!!Originally posted by augmentor View PostSuggest, use the choke once in two to three days even if not required. This shall keep the choke plunger mechanism smooth/free from any residue on it and operation hastle free.
I am using a two stroke and is on premix.Originally posted by deepanpandiaraj View PostAlso it is good to use choke for the morning start for the oil to start pumping.Keeps the engine healthy for long.

Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
Yes sir,I learnt from your earlier post that you do use premix and am aware that rx is a 2-stroke bike.Originally posted by rxdude View PostI am using a two stroke and is on premix.

But it has gear oil sump for the transmission gears and the crank. So using choke helps with getting oil to places from where the oil has dropped due to gravity during the idle time in night. It also builds the heat to good working tempreture of the engine and oil.

Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
Waking up this thread again after a long time.
I am moving abroad the next week, so my bike will be in hibernation for a long period of time. Most probably for at least 2 years. Nobody will be riding it and has to be kept covered.
These are the things I am planning to do.
Remove battery.
Apply a coat of 2T on the frame and chrome parts.
Tank I am planning to cover with a thick coat of Collinite on out side.
Drain the petrol from tank and add 2T oil.
Lift the tyres a little bit (though i don't know how to keep both tyres off the ground) from the ground keeping on centre stand.
Lift the head and add 2T oil in the cylinder.
What other points should I consider other than this??? Help greatly appreciated.

Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
thick oil on all chrome parts
pour some 2T oil from the plug hole , put the plug and kick 2/3 times
2 T in tank , turn it all around for a even inside coating
fill transmission oil till the brim
drain carb/ 2T tank , seal inlet hole (put 2/3 drops of 2t into the carb float pin etc..before sealing)of carb with petrol tube connected with a bolt pushed inside at the other end
clean & oil chain, all nut bolts, frame opening in the back under seat, Head light ear back side, wd40 inside handle switch , ignition switch etc..
cover exhaust opening with a plastic bag and tie around
i do'nt think you should put any oil on the painted frame
remove battery charge fully and store separately
store bike inside the house in a dry place with a normal bike cover
remove air filter element , wash with soap , dry and store
hope the list is complete

Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
Just want to understand on page number 9 we have crank case cover however if we replacing both sides how are we getting the old engine number to the new case?
Also if you can explain what paint you used on head as I asked many to repaint the head for my Rx 135 but they were saying the paint will be removed due to the heat from the engine.

Hi Rxdude,
I have read your forum each and every line, the ever best restoration, hope no one can restorer like your bike. I have restored my bike with 99.99% OE spare but repainted the most item, the impact is yours.
The restoration done by Myself. Paint and fitting. No engine work done.Last edited by satheesh_rx135; 03-15-2019, 11:40 AM.

Re: Project RX 135 Factory Rollout
[Mr.Boss;1369073]What is that left out 0.01% item?
99.99 means I used all OE spares which available in the market. But strictly I won't use original friction plate, I use only vendor make which much more better than OE. I used this vendor make for more than 5 years.
I bought new rx100 tank and panel and sticker for rx135 style. Apart from all OE even small nut and washer.
I don't know even Rx mechanics know that the very small washer in Rx. It kept between the handle lock cap and revit. That I placed by original one. That will say my restoration and passion for Rx. Now I have replaced the Marron tank with Toshi panel.
